This Fourth of July: engage with super cool people and super valuable ideas/histories and relationships - what a great nexus!

One of the classic aspects of the Fourth of July (Besides BBQ, which I'm def a fan of) is spending time with cool people.

Which, if you come to our (online) gathering this Fourth of July, you can absolutely do. And I'm not just talking about 'us' (Krissy, Dr. Montgomery Hill, and myself). Though I like to think we are quite enjoyable to hang out with.

AND - if you are already booked/traveling/having family time/ no-screen time on July Fourth (which we also totally support), then we are excited to share with you that you can join us for a follow-up conversation on July 21. In other words, we are still going to hold the July 4th session, and we are adding an additional follow-up conversation (co-facilitated with Krissy and myself) that you can attend whether you have attended the July 4th session live or if you are able to only watch/listen to the recording (which I'm looking at turning into an even shorter and more shareable podcast).

PLUS- we have some more great folks joining us to think through some of these issues.

Two good friends/colleagues of ours have agreed to be 'respondents' - people who, after listening to what we are saying about the roots of American democracy, are going to share some of their ideas about why this is important/relevant/significant from their perspective, in their world.

I've gotta say - this is a hard question to answer.

And it takes time to think through. Because this conversation is deep. And to take it seriously means going beyond oh that's "interesting."

Which is why I'm so grateful that they are joining us in giving this some serious thought!

Ramona is the founder of Ojala Threads which creates Hispanic heritage-inspired apparel for the diaspora. As part of her process of reconnecting with her own sacred homelands, she is involved in revitalizing a sacred site in the Dominican Republic. After many years of working for climate change far from home (including for the US military while based in Hawaii), she is involved in advocating for better transportation and affordable housing in the neighborhood she grew up in: the South Bronx, NYC.

Jasmyn is an international restorative justice facilitator, doula, and founder and executive director of Freedom Farm Azul, a 15-acre healing farm impacting communities through urban agriculture. They are the visionary founder of Honeycomb Justice, dedicated to restorative and transformative justice practice, and is dedicated to collective healing.
