Driving.
Have you ever noticed that when you are driving, every person who drives faster than you is a maniac?
„Look at this guy!” you say.
And that every person who drives slower than you is silly and scared?
„Jesus, why is she going so slow?” you say.
In the moment it feels so true.
But is it?
Well, sorry to break it to you.
Other people say the same things about you.
The slow driver sees you as a maniac.
The maniac sees you as a slow driver.
How you view others while driving depends on how you drive.
Read this 5 times before you go further. Write it down. Really think about it.
Age.
Do you think that somebody who is 30 is young or old?
Pick one.
Now — how old are you?
If you are under 25, 30 seems old to you.
If you are over 35, 30 seems young to you.
None of this is true.
It’s just a story your brain told you.
How you view other’s age depends on how old you are.
Conclusion?
You don’t see reality as it is.
You see it as you are.
Poor? Your brain tells you it’s impossible to become rich.
Overweight? Your brain will tell you that it’s impossible to become fit.
Unhappy marriage? Your brain will have you believe that true, romantic love doesn’t exist.
Depressed? Your brain convinces you sadness and hopelessness is normal.
Scared? Your brain convinces you that it’s not worth trying.
Terrible job? Your brain tells you work is pain.
Now that you know…
You can either allow your bullshit beliefs to control you forever.
—or —
take charge and start shaping your own reality.
A reality where you are who you want to be.
A free person who chooses their own destiny.
Fit like a fitness coach?
Attractive like a celebrity?
Rich and independent?
Confident and intelligent?
Popular?
Respected?
You choose. There are no limits.
But to choose, you first have to delete the old beliefs that got you where you are today.
The rubbish beliefs you have followed like a loyal puppy.
The ones that made you:
Yeah, these ones. Your favourites.
Basic rules of belief change:
If you can’t explain why you believe something, it’s not your belief. It’s been given to you by somebody else and you subscribe to it like a dummy.
Question every automatic thought pattern that appears in your brain, especially if it’s negative — using the LEU framework(keep reading.)
Find out what people who already have what you want believe. Then install those beliefs.
Changing your beliefs starts by first learning to analyse and deconstruct thoughts.
Enter: the LEU Framework
I’m going to teach you a 3-question LEU framework that gives me freedom to think, act and decide for myself.
This is the most valuable part of this letter.
And one of the most valuable tools I’ve ever used.
Focus, read slowly and think about what you are learning.
Learn this and become unstoppable.
Let it go over your head and stay where you are.
Use it every time you have a thought that isn’t helpful.
LEU —>
1. LOGIC,
2. EVIDENCE
3. UTILITY
It consists of 3 questions in that order. If you answer „no” to the #1 question you don’t need to ask questions #2 and #3
Example:
Thought — „I’m not good enough”
Question #1(LOGIC): Is it true?
You probably don’t even ask that.
You just accept your thoughts as reality.
You don’t even check if they are true for you.
The objective truth is not even in the conversation.
Actively ask yourself whether it’s true.
Force your brain to have a debate.
If yes, go to question #2
Question #2 (EVIDENCE): How do you know?
Where’s the proof?
How do you really know it’s true?
How can you prove the thought to be true?
Provide details, go step-by-step, examine your thought like a lawyer analyses a case.
Can you prove it like a scientist in a research paper?
Very rarely.
Sometimes I think I know something, but I don’t.
These are usually my biggest mistakes.
You don’t know most things. You just think you do.
If you can prove it, go to question #3
Question 3# (UTILITY): What does it mean?
If the thought is true and you can prove it — what does it mean for YOU?
This question enables you to take control of the story your brain is telling you.
You get to define the meaning.
To be the creator, not the observer.
To choose, instead of being controlled.
Going with our example, if you think that „I’m not good enough" is true and you can prove it, what does it mean for you?
That you will never get the things that you want?
That you can learn, grow and become better?
The choice between 1 and 2 will dictate your life forever.
By using the LEU framework regularly, you are in control.
You get to create your own thought patterns and stories.
You stop being a puppet.
You’re writing the story, not just reading it.
Use it wisely.
It’s one of the strongest weapons in your arsenal.
Stay sharp,
Adrian
