“Loving this Nation enough to Hold the Line”

Dear Intercessors,
Today as our staff gathered to pray, our worship leader shared something with us that touched me deeply.
Last week, he had gone to an outdoor event to lead worship. As he flew home—it was about a 90-minute flight—he looked out the window and took in the landscape of our nation for the entirety of the flight. He saw the mountains and the valleys, and he felt this great love well up within him for this nation.
The song by Irving Berlin came to him:
God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the Light from above
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home
He felt such love for our nation, he wept as he shared it with us today bringing me to tears as well. He is a naturalized citizen as are several of our prayer warriors.
Something I’ve learned from my time with our naturalized citizens is the struggles they saw coming from those socialist, Marxist, or communist nations (the isms), that compel them to fight for America to remain free today. They have lived in a nation of bondage, and their fight to retain the freedom they found in America is often greater than our own. It brings them to tears, often.
As believers, we read through the song and see the call to stand beside the nation through our intercessions. Through the night, we seek the Light from above to keep her covered each and every day. While socialist indoctrination has taught our young people to hate this country, we weep with a deep love for her. Why? Because we carry the Lord’s heart for this nation, something we’ve gained having spent so much time interceding on her behalf.
So, yes, we love this nation enough to hold the line.
Friends, we have never had to live under the bondages of the ism ideologies. While some have travelled to countries who are under their rule, perhaps even experiencing those bondages for a short period, few have had to endure under those bondages found abroad. Unfortunately, it causes us to take our freedoms for granted. Until recently of course. The masks, the lockdowns, the closing of businesses, churches, and even the infiltration of our churches and conservative platforms by deep state players… they all represent the ideology of the isms mentioned above.
If that’s not enough to awaken us to the dangers we are facing, we have extremisms coming our way. Re-education camps and encouraging neighbors to turn in one another for voicing their dissent. We can now add to that the “equality act” which passed the house Friday of last week. Perhaps it sounds harmless until your little girl faces a grown man in the women’s restroom, your faith-based organization is required to offer abortions, or your teenager is handed puberty-blocking medication in the midst of an emotional crisis because a doctor decided it must be gender dysphoria. Objections will be met with the loss of parental rights.
The left wants to destroy our nation.
If we do not fight for this nation, and see her as God sees her, what will tomorrow hold?
Are we ready to fight? Not because we are angry, fearful, or even disgusted, but because we are ready to come to a place wherein we cry out, God Bless America, because it’s the land that we love and we are willing to fight for the freedoms she still represents? Anyone who spends time in prayer receives the heart of God on the issue. It’s unavoidable.
I love this nation because God loves this nation. I pray for this nation to fulfil her destiny because her destiny is to be a LIGHT unto all the nations. We cannot allow that light to be extinguished.
In this season, God is allowing us to see the stark contrast of isms so that when He brings forth the Red Sea moment, the one I shared with you weeks ago, we will not only step into the promises of God but we will fight to hold on to the freedom that they represent.
Remember, America is the last line of defense from the isms that have been actively working to devour the nations of the earth. As intercessors, we must take on the heart of God for our nation and love her enough to continue to Hold the Line!
Blessings & love,
Ricci Wilson
