Subject: "How to Walk Close to God During Troubled Times" Session 1 Part A

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your faithfulness this year! It's so exciting to see what the faithful prayers of God's children will birth in a Nation!

Just a reminder, our Seattle, Gathering of the Eagles is next week! December 8-10th. If you haven't registered, go to the "Events" page located on our website and reserve your seat today!

Our new website is one week old today! (Monday) Just like anything just starting out, there are a few things that need to be ironed out. I assure you, my team is working feverishly to work through these little issues so you can enjoy and learn from the vast expanse of resources found on our website. Once the login features are fine-tuned, we will resume uploading the files until everything available on the previous site, can be accessed on the new website. Thank you for your support and patience in this area, we'll keep you posted along the way.

I've added a new page entitled "Q & A" where I assembled frequently asked questions to help guide you as you explore the World for Jesus website. Start here to avoid delays waiting for a response to your questions. You can find our "Q & A" located at the far end of menu bar; if you don't find your question listed call or email us and we'll get you taken care of as quickly as possible.

One of our missions here at World for Jesus Ministries is to raise up effective prayer warriors to stand in the gap for their Nation. We have intercessors all over the world learning how to do just that - these are our Joel's Army Intercessors. We are moving into the season of the intercessor if you want to learn what it is to be an intercessor, how to pray for your nation, and the value of being a part of Joel's Army, check out the Joel's Army page of our website or email us at joelsarmy@worlforjesus.org. If you want to pray, we have a home for you!

Following is the next installment in How to Walk with God, I pray it blesses and encourages you for the days ahead.

Blessings & love
Ricci Wilson

Urgent prayer request:

Please continue to stand with us over our finances, it's not uncommon just before a Gathering, we just need prayer to break through this attack.

“How To Walk Close To God During Troubled Times”

Session One

Part A

By Nita Johnson

NOLA Revival Services June, 2011

Please note: This teaching was done at Bethel Chapel in MountLake Terrace, January 2016. We are celebrating the significant victories the Lord granted us in the election, but we must remember why we pray, and the importance of drawing into Him each and every day. Let us never grow weary in our walk, in our prayer life, and in our Word life, for these will be our very breath in days to come.

[Opening prayer] Thank You for Your presence, Lord. We love to be in the presence of Your Spirit. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. I think Cuba went 70 years without the celebration of anything representing Christ. We don't want to lose those liberties, Lord. Help us tonight, to see a vision of what America could be, what You want it to be. We thank You for Your goodness, Your kindness, Your generosity. Father, we thank You! The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon us to break the bonds, the shackles, and to give us freedom. How mighty You are, Lord. How powerful You are. Help us to learn Your ways, Lord, to know Your ways, to walk in Your ways. In Jesus Name, Amen. [end]

I can remember years ago when we first started the work of the Gatherings; the Lord would give me vision after vision of the good things about America. He would help me remember what America could be if we would fight to ensure that blessing. At times, even today, we look at America, and that brings pain, doesn't it? In such a short a time, things seem to have declined quite a bit, although they are not as bad as they could be. The Lord has arrested many things because of prayer. [Many of which we shared on our November 22nd call with Nita and Ricci]

He spoke to me right after the turn of the 2016 year, and He said to me, "The Elite have many things that they've planned for America this year, but if you will gather the people, and if the people will pray, you can overturn many of their plans. I thought, "Wow! If only the Church could really get a hold of that truth, how different this nation would be. God is at a place where He's so ready to do what we never thought He would do. He's so willing to do for us what He did for Israel time and time again. All we must do is pray!

Where's the Church in this equation? Some say, "Well, I don't think God call me to be an intercessor." Really? When did you 'uncall' yourself? I mean, "I'm not called to be an intercessor?"

People think that you must be abnormal or in a more positive approach, 'something special' if you are called to be an intercessor. Not so. If you are an intercessor, you are the norm. You're not abnormal, your not a rarity. God called everyone that belongs to Him to be an intercessor for their nation. Therefore, if we're not praying whatever we're called to pray, we are neglecting our responsibility as a child of God.

I'm sure that there was a point in time when Nineveh rose up and said to Jonah, "Look, we don't know who you are. You appear to be Jewish, but aside from that, we don't know who you are. You stink a little; I don't know perhaps like you've been in the belly of a fish or something the last three days. So, it sounds like you're asking us to pray and repent and well, we're Ninevites, we don't do that sort of thing here."

I am sure Jonah was thinking in his heart, "Look, you're talking to a Jew. If there is any nation on the earth that knows how to repent, it is us so let me teach you because your nation is at stake." I think that it is fascinating that God picked out a Jewish man to go and talk to Nineveh. Amen?

So, here in America, we kind of have a Nineveh here. It is a nation that has gone astray. We also have lots of Jonah's. Maybe in good times, peaceful times, times when there isn't much going on we can afford to be complacent. However, in moments like this, when we have were warned about the devastation that lay before us, the dangers just around the corner, who can afford to respond with, "I am not an intercessor?"

Turn in your Bibles to Isaiah 61: 1-4
"THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion–to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit–that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.

My heart is aching tonight. It's aching. It's longing for God to hear, for us to pray, and for God to hear.
To be continued next week...

In His Amazing Love,
Nita Johnson
