Port Angeles T-party ft. twenty orcas! | | August is somehow over, and while the busy season is starting to slow down, the whales are not! On a recent trip out of Port Angeles, guests and crew aboard the Glacier Spirit were treated to a spectacular T-Party featuring around 20 Bigg’s orcas from at least four different pods, including the T100s, T101s, T46Bs, T46C1 & C2. This incredible encounter featured glassy seas, which offered the perfect conditions for hearing the exhalation blows as the orcas surfaced in sync. What an awesome way to move towards autumn! | | | 🐋 Trip tip: binoculars abound! | One question we often get asked is, “Should I bring my own binoculars?” We recommend that if you have a pair you love, plan to bring them along! Aboard each vessel, we do have a number of pairs of binoculars for guests to borrow, but usually only enough for one per party/table. Binoculars are great for viewing some of our smaller wildlife, such as shore and diving birds, sea otters, and harbor porpoises. | | The fun continues: autumn tours | | As we move into September, we will shift to our autumn schedule—our half-day tours will move from twice daily to once a day. Tours from Seattle (Edmonds) will depart daily at 9:30 am, tours from Port Townsend will depart daily at 10:30 am, and tours from Port Angeles will depart daily at 12:30 pm. We look forward to welcoming you aboard in the future!
