The Upper Town area from Mount Joy to League Street boasts some of the oldest & most historic buildings in Knysna.
Over time, the pavements have become neglected & the dense woodland behind the residential area has attracted an increasing number of homeless people, further exacerbating the litter problem.
In June this year a team of local residents decided to take matters into their own hands as part of RKs’ Pavement Proud initiative. Headed by staunch Revive Knysna & Keep Knysna Clean supporter Tracy Statt, the group began an extensive clean-up operation, beginning with the arduous task of physically picking up rubbish & cutting back overgrown plants & shrubs in & around their own properties. |
