Our Founders
 

Mother and Son team, Deborah de Maio and Rem Malloy, launched Italy4Real in 1996. Their mission was to close the gap between impersonal, crowded bus tours and the frustrations of planning a trip to an unfamiliar place. 

By developing a selection of small group tours with personally reviewed accommodations and eventually providing custom trip planning services, Italy4Real offers real travel for real people. 

Sadly, Deborah passed away in 2022, but Rem continues to grow his mother's passion for travel and unique experiences.
