At Lakeview Springs, a beautiful transformation has taken place. As the Welcome Center continues to near completion, Jose (Operations Director) and his team have recently reached another significant milestone with the completion of the fireplace and chimney. Each stone they stacked was carefully chosen, placed with purpose, and fitted together to form something strong, enduring, and welcoming.
This fireplace is more than just a structure—it’s a symbol. Just as those stones were stacked one by one to build something lasting, so too has Lakeview Ministries been built up over the past 60 years. Each year, each summer, each camper, each staff member, each volunteer, each donor—each one has been a figurative stone in the foundation and growth of this ministry.
Think of the thousands of people who have prayed, served, given, and loved through Lakeview. Each one is a stone in the ministry God has been building here. And just like the chimney, these stones don’t stand alone. They are stacked together, supported by one another, forming a structure that points upward—toward Christ.
And that’s the key: Christ is the cornerstone.
Without Him, the structure crumbles. Without Him, the ministry loses its purpose. But with Christ as the cornerstone, every stone finds its place. Every person finds their purpose. Every act of service, every word of encouragement, every moment of worship becomes part of something eternal.
As we celebrate 60 years of ministry at Lakeview, we don’t just look back at what has been built—we look forward to what God is still building. And we remember that we are not just part of the camp family—we are part of God’s spiritual house, built on the foundation of His Word, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone.
