Unlikely Source Makes a Big Impact! | | Back in the chill of late winter, an older gentleman picked up the phone and called Lakeview Ministries. His question was simple: “Do you have anything you need donated?” Our team pointed him toward the Amazon Wish List, thinking he might select an item or two. A few weeks later, he called back—not just with a donation update, but with his story. Every few years, he explained, he searches for a ministry to support. He lives alone, as his wife passed away several years ago, and he enjoys the compassion and connection that comes from giving. He had stumbled across Lakeview Ministries online, felt drawn to the mission, and decided this was the year he’d get involved. Since that first call, this older gentleman has gone to our Wish List several more times—donating several thousand dollars worth of supplies! His gifts range from fun (pudgie pie irons and tetherballs) to functional (binders, a mic stand, and a string of lights)—each one meeting a real need and bringing a little extra joy and care to camp.
This gentleman may not live nearby or have any past connection to Lakeview, but his generosity reminds us that God moves in surprising ways—and that sometimes, the most unexpected gifts are the ones that bless us most.

| | | SESSION SPOTLIGHT: Alpine Village in Action! | | One of the projects in our "For Generations to Come" campaign is building our 6th (and final) Village Cluster at Lakeview Villages, fulfilling the long-term master site plan. While construction is not quite finished, during our third week of camp the very first set of campers spent their week at Alpine Village! This nearly-finished addition marks a major milestone in Lakeview Ministries’ ongoing story of growth and faith. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since construction began for the Lakeview Villages site way back in 2008. Constructing Lakeview Villages was possible due to the generosity of the "Let the Children Come" campaign, raising 2.5 million to build an entirely new side of camp. That year, a 30-foot dam created beautiful Lake Wehmeier and the first cabins, bathhouses, and roads took shape. During the first summer with campers at the Villages, in 2011, the Village Lodge wasn't completed and as a result the canteen, Shirt Shack, and staff offices were all housed in one of the four village clusters that existed for that summer. The remaining 3 villages held campers, which meant a "full" week of camp was 60 kids. The addition of Alpine Village doubles that original capacity, with the Villages being able to have 120 campers each week of camp! We're so grateful for this next chapter in camp’s history, expanding our capacity to offer new adventures, friendships, and faith experiences for teens. We're still working on finishing construction of the bathhouse at Alpine Village (campers are sharing the bathhouse of another village) and completing an upstairs living quarters for our seasonal program interns. If you're interested in helping us finish this project, let us know at office@lakeview.camp. We'll be continuing construction through August of this year. Praise God for his continued faithfulness to all generations at Lakeview Villages! | | | | We love to talk! Reply to this email and share your thoughts. | |
