As a result of Him speaking and showing up…
I want to have an archive of all of the times that God shows up, answers prayers, and speaks directly to us.
It actually still completely blows me away that the God who created everything.
The God who is in control of everything care enough about me to speak with me directly.
👉 It’s pretty awesome, right?
I’d actually have a hard time believing it if it didn’t keep happening over and over in my life.
The picture in this post was taken literally seconds after God showed up in my life and not just answered a prayer, but let me know He did it.
Those of you who have been following my journey, know that nearly 13 years after finally inviting Jesus into my heart…
Nearly 13 years after I accepted to Grace of Jesus into my life and He gave me all that He was…
I fully committed to Jesus and declared I am giving everything I have to Him and got baptized this Easter Sunday with my son.
I’ll keep talking more and more about how transformational it’s been, but I wanted to talk about this little “wink” from God that happened just moments before I was baptized.
If you look close, you can kinda see I am still a little stunned, and a lot emotional about what just happened.
Stay with me, because I have to go back to 2 weeks prior to my baptism to set the stage.
The Easter Sunday baptism at our church is a massive event.
Not just one or two baptisms, but really a mass of baptisms one after the other.
It’s quite the experience that I had seen happen from my seat, and now I was about to live it out.
Normally, we reserve every 3rd Sunday for baptisms at the church.
And before people get baptized, they give their own personal testimonial of God’s hand on their life.
Reading their emotional, and exciting transformation stories to the church.
But when you are baptizing several dozen people at a time, you’ve got to find a way to move things a little more swiftly, or the Easter service would have to go on for hours.
Even days.
So, two weeks before being baptized, my son and I were filmed giving our testimonials to Christ.
And even though I am pretty comfortable in front of the camera these days…
There was a part of me that just felt like I didn’t give God the words He fully deserved.
I was feeling like I had som much more to say and give, so that all could understand the full transformation that God has been having in my life.
Literally, from the second the interview was over, I began some silent prayers to God.
“God, I don’t feel I was able to get everything out that I wanted to, but please use what I did get out to change hearts, open minds, and help bring people to Christ.”
For the next 2 weeks, I voiced this prayer to God all throughout the day.
Which brings us to the picture you see.
Just seconds before, the girl being baptized ahead of me turns to me and says…
👉 “I loved your testimonial. So many people are going to be able to relate to your story.”
✝️ Just like that, God showed up.
He didn’t have to.
He already has all of me.
I was already committing to give Him everything no matter what.
But, just because He is so awesome. Just because He loves me so much, He wanted to let me know…
“I’ve got you Nick. I love you Nick. I am listening to you Nick.”
“Every thing you have ever asked me, I’ve heard. I am love, and you are loved with everything I have.”
It still seems crazy to me that with all of creation to love on.
With like 8 billion people to care for… that He took time out to speak to me directly.
God is pretty awesome, right?
Sometimes He puts things into my Spirit.
Sometimes, I’ll ask a question about scripture that I don’t understand and the same day, or the next day, every single podcast I listen to or book I read speaks directly to the answer.
Sometimes He speaks to me through people, like He did on Easter Sunday.
But, He is ALWAYS speaking.
Always answering.
Always loving me.
Through these little occasions that are actually monumental in the shift they cause in me.
❤️ And I am just overwhelmed by His love for me.
What experiences do you have where God spoke directly to you.
Answered your prayer.
Made Himself known in a real, tangible way in your life?
I would love to hear them.
Every one of them.
The more we can share, the more we can help everyone see the true nature and love of God.
Even those of us, like me, who have already accepted Jesus into our hearts…
Sometimes need that little “wink” of love.
