Lent 2021 and other upcoming resources

With Ash Wednesday upon us this upcoming week I wish to share with you the numerous Province resources that we have put together to help parishes, communities, and individuals during their Lenten journey.

  • Our annual Daily Lenten Reflections Booklet may be found on the Province website at:  https://redemptorists.net/missions-prayer/2021-lent/  On our web site you can easily download the PDF in either Spanish or English. If you would like to receive a physical copy in the future, please email Katie Carpenter, our communications director, at kcarpenter@redemptorists.net.

  • Daily Audio Podcasts on the readings of the day may be found at www.redemptorists.net in either Spanish or English.

  • Weekly Video reflections on the upcoming Sunday readings (Cycle B) may be found on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/RedemptoristsBaltimore or YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/BaltRedemptorists These videos are released each Wednesday first thing in the morning.

  • New this year, the Province’s Young Adult Committee has organized a series of brief reflections on the Sunday readings of Lent (Cycle B) to be offered by young adults from around our province. Each Wednesday a different young adult from one of our ministry sites will share a quick reflection on what the Sunday reading says to them. These videos will be posted on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/RedemptoristsBaltimore or YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/BaltRedemptorists and we hope that you will share them widely.

  • March 24 - March 31: Lenten Retreat (Online)

Additionally, please see the attached letters on Lent from Pope Francis here and our Superior General Michael Brehl, C.Ss.R. here.

It is our prayer that these resources help you in this season of prayer and reflection, commemorating the time Jesus spent fasting in the desert preparing for His own ministry. May your Lenten journey this year be fruitful, one filled with much grace, a renewed heart, and a greater fidelity to the message of the Gospel, so that you may experience more deeply the light and hope of the Resurrection.

In the Redeemer,

Very Rev. Paul Borowski, C.Ss.R.

Redemptorist Provincial Superior
