I started this newsletter series admitting that I had worked on so hard building a very popular blog with lots of traffic...
but it was failing in the sense that it wasn't doing me any good in terms of having an online business.
So I started changing things.
I'd like you to think in terms of making some changes to your blog if you find yourself in the same predicament I once did.
If you're brand new to blogging... then you're in luck.
You can do these things right from the start and avoid some of the head scatching and hand-wringing that I had to endure.
So let's talk about it.
How can you make your blog "professional" instead of casual and hobby-ish?
The very first thing you need to do is to make sure you're building an email list.
To build a list is to build a business.
To blog without building a list is to have a blog, but not a business.
It's really that simple.
You need an auto-responder.
This is not negotiable.
This is an "email service provider".
You need it to harness and manage an email list.

The best one (and they all cost about the same) that I always recommend is GetResponse.

Now, why will it help your business to build an email list?
Because this is the single best thing you can do to start building a pro-fit base for your blog.
It's very difficult to sell your products and services directly from your blog.
Much, much easier to get your most interested readers to join your email list, then send them messages crafted precisely to get them to become your customers and clients.
It's not rocket science.
You can do this.
If you're blogging for a year or a day...
Make this your top, top priority right here and now.
If you've already got an email list going, that's great.
Tomorrow I'm going to show you how to make your blog the center- piece of your email program, so you can 1. build your blog 2. get sales
Today, if you don't have a way to build an email list on your blog... just do it.
I hate to admit it, but I put this off way too long.
Don't you make that mistake.
I'll show you how to make your email list pay off in the next part of this series.

Here's A Copy Of Part 2 of "I hate to admit it"
(Copy of Part 1 follows) ==> ==> ==>
I was talking last week about creating a business with your blog.
If you didn't see it, I copied it at the end of today's message.
I had meant to continue on last week, but I was so busy putting together my newest ebook, that I slipped up.
So, anyway, here's the point I wanted to get across to you.
It doesn't matter how much traffic you have coming to your blog, or how many comments and friends you get.
It only matters that you build a crowd of folks who want your help.
That means they want to get your ebook, so they sign up for your free offer.
Now they're on your email list.
Now you can build the relationship deeper and eventually they will become a customer or client.
It doesn't have to be an ebook.
You might mention in a blog post that you do some kind of mentoring.
Link to a little sales page that gives more details.
It doesn't even have to be a sales page.
It can just be one of your blog pages that you title "mentoring" or "coaching" or "work with me".
Then link to that page when it comes up naturally in your blog post.
Say "That's how it's done and by the way, if you need more help, I do coaching to walk you through the process..."
Then link to your "Mentoring" page.
Put a paypal link on it and voila...
You've got a business.
These are just a couple of examples of how you can turn your blog into a business.
I hate to admit it, but I didn't even think of how to convert my blogging visitors into clients and customers until I had been blogging a while and had built a pretty large following.
So, I want you to think of it right now.
How can you build a business on your blog today?
I'm not talking about developing an info course that might take 6 months.
That's fine, but for now, for today... how can you start building a base of clients and customers from your blog?
In the next (part 3) edition of this mini-series, I'll give you some more ideas for doing this.
Hey, don't be shy...
Hit the reply.
(I just realized that rhymes, lol... now I've got a jingle going on, haha).
Anyway, hit the reply and tell me what you're doing to make your blog pay off.
Or let me know why you think that's not happening.
What's holding you back?
Love to hear from you.

Here's Part 1 ==> ==> ==>
I hate to admit this. But... When I first started blogging, I thought that I just needed to drive traffic to my blog, and the money would start rolling in. I figured if I added some advertising on it, I'd be on easy street.
A lot of my fellow bloggers were counting on Google Adsense links to put them in the game. It was all about quickly putting together a site that could bring passive income for ever after. If you can't guess... the Adsense path was pretty useless for just about everybody I knew.
You had to have so much traffic coming to your blog to make anything more than a few bucks here and there.
If you have that much traffic, trust me on this...
There's a much more lucrative business model you should be using than Adsense, or banner ads, or sponsored posts or any other nonsense.
As far as my blog, I built it up to the point that, yes... I was actually generating thousands of visitors per day on autopilot.
So, was that the end of a happy story?
Not on your life.
In fact, I dropped to an emotional low when I first realized that even with thousands of daily visitors, I had no way to convert them into customers and clients.
So, everything I had worked on so hard was working in terms of having a very popular blog with lots of traffic...
but it was failing in the sense that it wasn't doing me any good in terms of having an online business.
I knew something had to change.
In fact, a lot of things had to change.
I'll continue this journey in the next day or 2.
Meanwhile, hit the Reply and let me know how your blog of other online biz is working out for you.
