here's what's happening
beneath the surface...
• Because you’re talking about your
experience, your story… people know
you’ve invested some of yourself
into this review.
• Because you review other similar
products, they can see that you’re
not just pitching them on this one
product, but you’re giving them choices.
• Because you tell them both the good
and the bad stuff about the product,
they don’t feel like you’re pushing hard
to sell them on it, but just telling it like it is.
• Because you treat them like people
instead of customers, they get the sense
that you really care about them.
So, now, they’ve received so much
from you that they will feel some
sense of obligation to reciprocate.
If they want this product, they’ll
probably want to buy it from you.
Did you ever test drive a new car,
or look for a couch in a store…
and the sales person was so nice,
friendly, not pushy and really seemed
to be looking out for your best interest?
Didn’t you WANT to buy from them?
Didn’t you feel some sort of
obligation to buy from them?
Of course.
This is human nature.
Again, it’s something that copywriters
call the principle of reciprocity.
It's where somebody wants to
give you something in return for
all the time you spent with them,
for your honesty, sincerity and friendship.
Now, they may not want the product
after all is said and done.
But if you do a good job reviewing it,
and they decide they want it, there’s
a great chance they will buy it from you.
Do your best to write a fantastic review,
then spend double the time driving traffic to it.
That’s the best way to monetize
your review articles.
Good luck with it :)
