The results from yesterday's
survey were interesting.
In case you missed it,
I asked for feedback as
to your biggest blogging
challenge these days.
Getting more traffic,
building an email list, and
writing good content in a
consistent manner were
among the top responses.
I'll get to all those things
in upcoming emails.
But today, I want to touch
on the surprisingly top
response I received...
leveraging social media in
a meaningful way.
So, I know everyone wants
traffic, list-building and content
creation advice, but social
media is really related to all
of those things.
I don't think it's such a compacted
matter, but really more of a
"step by step" process that you
need to create.
So, here's the thing…
Everyone knows there are
bizillions of people on the big
social media platforms.
So, how do you leverage this
to get traffic to your blog?
1. Post to Facebook, LinkedIn and others…
2. Link back to your blog. People will follow
you there IF they like what you’re doing.
3. Don’t forget YouTube, Instagram and
Snapchat… these are great social media
outlets for finding new traffic sources.
That's really the main process
you need to follow.
Much more can be said about
this, and I'll get into some of
the nuances of social media
campaigns in the next few
emails.
For now, just follow this main
process.
Here's the Big Trick.
Do it consistently.
Do it methodically.
That means, make a schedule
of how much time you will spend
on this, each and every day.
So, maybe you spend 15 minutes
twice a day on Facebook.
Perhaps 10 minutes 3 times
a day on Twitter.
Now you have a process to
use.
It's all about having a clear
process to follow.
It doesn't have to be the one
I just gave you, but it has to
be something that you will
do every day.
Maybe your big thing is Pinterest,
LinkedIn, Reddit or whatever.
That's not so important as the
fact that you have a process
to follow methodically.

think of your main blogging
challenge.
