I hope you got to yesterday's Live Coaching Call.

It sets the tone for what you need to do now… to restart and reboot your business.
Now, I've been reading your responses to the homework I assigned the other day.
1. What are the top 3 clearly defined needs in your market or niche?
2. How can you meet those needs better or more uniquely than anyone else?
I'm seeing a lot of struggle here.
I'm not really surprised because the reason you probably joined this particular challenge is that you are "stuck".
Your business is at a point where you don't quite know if you should go forward or backward.
Sideways or Slantways.
So, these two questions are BIG.
They are the real foundation of everything you do with your blog, with your online business.
You MUST get this part right.
Now, let's start with #1 for today, then maybe tomorrow we'll get to #2 (actually monetizing your business, based on what you know from #1).
This might sound confusing, but it will make sense.
Don't question what's going on here, just stick with me.

For now, let's look at this.
#1 What are the top 3 clearly defined needs in your market or niche?
This is so important because a big reason why blogs sputter and spin and get no results is that they are about the blogger… about you.
Your readers want to have THEIR needs taken care of.
They way their problems solved, their concerns addressed and their lives improved.
That's why they're on your blog.
That's what you have to do to make your business work.
So you absolutely must know the top 3, or 4 or 5…
the top problems that your readers need solved.
If your niche is fitness, then you need to know exactly what people struggle with to get fit, be fit, stay fit.
You need to know where they go wrong and how to help them get back on track.
When you do that, you improve their lives.
There's nothing more to it.
When you do that, they start to trust you.
That's everything.
When they trust you, they'll buy the products you suggest and they'll gladly pay for the services you provide.
But it's not because you're smart or clever or expert or "the authority" (although those things help).
It's because you have demonstrated in your blog and in your emails and in your online interactions in places like Facebook groups (and many others)…
that (1) your really care about improving their lives (2) you can be trusted (3) you have something that can help them.
So what we're really talking about here is your "brand"…
your "personal brand" as people call it.
How do people see you.
When they hear your name are you "the fitness guy or gal" ?
If they see you as "the guy" or "the gal" that can be trusted to help them...
they WILL grab just about any product or service you offer.
It's that simple.
It's that important.
So, this "personal brand" you are building must be marketed.
It's not enough that YOU know you are the fitness expert.
Your target audience, your crowd must also know that.
This becomes your business strategy.
This is where the biggest work comes in, at least in the beginning.
You must set a clear business strategy to define and market your brand, to your crowd.
So, you've got a lot of homework.
This is not just for today, but really, for the next few days.
I want you to write ALL of this down…
as usual, it's really for you, not me.

Here are the things you need to establish.1.Have you carefully defined... What are the top 3 needs in your market or niche?
If not, do it now. If you did it, make sure you've got it right, and if you're not sure then brainstorm. Don't write just 3. Write 5 or 10 or 30. Then the top 3 will begin to emerge Now, once you've got this step right, but not until you do, move to step 2. 2.What is your brand?In other words, when people think of you or your blog, what comes to mind? Fill in the blanks. you are the expert on ______ you are the authority of ______
you are the go-to person if someone wants to _________ When you've filled in those blanks, your brand will start to crystalize before your very eyes.
You will start to see what comes to mind when people hear your name or visit your blog.
This will really start to establish a strong trust and build real relationships within your crowd.
Now, let's advance to step 3.
3. What is your business strategy?
Decide now…
how will you get people to find you and be exposed to your brand?
BE SPECIFIC.
Which blogs will you get actively engaged on (Hint: ones that your crowd frequents).
Which social media sites?
Which forums?
Who are the influencers in your niche and how will you start getting known by them?
END of homework.
That's it for today.
It's a lot.
But this is your business.
You must do all this groundwork because if you don't, you won't be getting any better results in the future than you have in the past.
This is the challenge.
Remember to send me your homework if you want some help with all this.
Otherwise, you're on your own, and that's not the best place to be if you want to get better at this stuff.
