September Wine Club!

Hello Barsha wine lovers, with the kids back in school the adults will play! For Classico, we have a white blend that will satisfy your palate, and a perfectly balanced red that will enhance any meal. Riserva features a unique white with persimmon, spice notes, and a silky sangiovese so good, you’ll want another glass!
Fun Fact: Did you know that California has the most wine drinkers in the U.S? With New York coming in 2nd and Florida at 3rd.
We’re just a bunch of winos and we love it!

Margerum M5 White 2016 Happy Canyon
Santa Barbara, CA

48% Grenache Blanc, 14% Roussanne, 14% Viognier, 12% Marsanne, 12% Vermentino.
Grenache Blanc characteristics of apple and orange peel aromas dominate. White florals with sweet honey, hints of brioche toast, sweet pea, mint and tropical fruits, are contributed by the remaining four grape varietals. Full, round and pleasing with ample acidity to balance the richness that will continue to evolve with time in bottle. Flavors of apple, wet stone and a touch of peach engage with a lovely long persistent finish that lingers. Great with cheese! Light blues & triple creams along with a baguette—torn not sliced.

Vignalta Colli Euganei DOC Rosso Riserva 2012
 Veneto, Italy

Merlot & Cabernet varieties vines were introduced in the Colli Euganei in the 19th century, adapting very well to volcanic hills. These varieties did so well, that they replaced in a short period of time, other local red varieties after Phylloxera wiped out vineyards at the turn of the century. Rosso Riserva is made with a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet grapes and is the true expression of the Colli Euganei terroir, a nice balance between fruit and tannins, softened with two years of oak barrel aging. Complex, earthy, full with notes of dried cherry, fresh herbs, blackberry, strawberry compote w/hints of tobacco leaf & spice.

   Idlewild Fox Hill Cortese 2014
Mendocino, CA

Idlewild Wines is based in Healdsburg, CA. Located in a funky concrete warehouse turned simple winery, the focus is not on a tasting room nor any sense of grandiosity but instead on the vineyards and what is in the bottle. Grapes are sourced from various locations around Northern California from growers who feel more like partners.
Made of 100% Cortese grape (native grape of Gavi,Italy) this wine has depths of a light red or orange wine, but it drinks more like a white. Chamomile, persimmon, cardamom, citrus peel, and white pepper highlight the aromas. The mouthfeel is saline and viscous followed by a touch of firm tannin and driving acidity.

Autumn Arugula Salad w/Caramelized Squash & Pomegranate Ginger VIn

Buon Anni Cent’ANNI Rosso Riserva Sangiovese 2012
Santa Ynez, CA

The goal of this winery is to make classic Sangiovese that is dry, lean and complex. Typical Sangiovese aromas of spice and violets are here; complemented by ripe, earthy currants and black cherry w/a wonderful silky texture. Even though the grapes grow in one of the cooler climates in California they still get fully physiological mature grapes. Very drinkable now, as the acidity and smooth tannins have resolved after two years in large neutral French oak puncheons. It pairs with white and red meats.

September Cheese & Charcuterie Club!

September’s club is a big welcome to the fall season and its more cozy flavors.
You are in for a treat this month, we’ve got fresh, tangy & lemony herb goat from France & Oven roasted rosemary ham from Italy, both are great enjoyed by themselves or layered on your toasted baguette!
Tome Fleur Verte Chevrefeuille
France

Very fresh goat tomme and the lovely combination of herbs -- mostly tarragon, savory, and thyme -- pressed into the rind make for a gorgeous appearance and a cheese that embodies spring time, any time of the year. The herbs are edible, and their refreshing green color nicely contrasts with the semi-soft alabaster-white paste. Creamy, smooth, mild and lemony, with notes of white pepper and the clean yet lingering taste of tarragon. Not strong or "barnyardy". Pasteurized, made in Perigord, France.

Oven Roasted Rosemary Ham
Italy

Principe works only with top, local Italian hog suppliers and chooses only the best legs for its premium hams. Slow roasted to perfection, during roasting the ham is rubbed vigorously with rosemary and seasonings to make sure each bite is flavor packed.

Be sure to enjoy with your warm, crisp Barsha Baguette!
