VetConnectNTX Online Directory Is LIVE!
What is VetConnectNTX?

VetConnectNTX is a new online resource for veterans, military families, and social workers at nonprofit agencies. The directory is a limited universe searchable directory of nonprofit and government programs serving local veterans and military families.

Programs that have been reviewed and approved by VetConnect North Texas volunteer teams will be prioritized in the directory search results as Verified Agencies. The review teams are made up of professional grantmakers, veterans, and community volunteers.

During the start-up phase, agencies will be added to the directory monthly. Please contact us ASAP to submit your recommendations or submit your application to be considered for Verified Agency status.

Power User Training for Veteran Advocates
Over one hundred veteran advocates and social workers from across North Texas signed up for Power User training to prepare for the launch of VetConnectNTX. Two on-site sessions were held on October 18, 2016 at the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas and also at the Recovery Resource Council in Fort Worth.

Participants heard from Michelle Monse, president of the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation, who also represents the North Texas Veterans Funders Collaborative. Ms. Monse explained the purpose of the new resource directory and its goal to provide accessible, reliable information about services for veterans and military families in North Texas. Power Users will play an active role in sharing the directory, updating their agency profiles and recommending additional agencies to be included.

Morgan Peretti, customer success manager at Aunt Bertha, presented information from the technology perspective. She talked about the features of the directory and how it can be used to identify a range of services in specific zip codes. Users can determine everything from locations and available services to contact information and veteran eligibility. VetConnectNTX Verified Agencies will be prioritized in directory search results.

At the training sessions, Power Users were able to test the site on their devices and a productive Q&A followed. Participants gave the VetConnectNTX directory and website resources an enthusiastic ‘thumbs up’ and plan to incorporate it into their work on behalf of veterans and military families on November 1, 2016 when the new website is launched.
