VetConnectNTX Online Directory Launch –

The VetConnectNTX online directory will be launched in October 2016. It will be a resource website for veterans, military families, and social workers at nonprofit agencies. The online directory will be a limited universe searchable directory of nonprofit and government programs serving local veterans and military families. Programs that have been reviewed and approved by VetConnect North Texas volunteer teams will be featured in the search results. The review teams are made up of professional grantmakers, veterans, and community volunteers.

Learn How To Get Maximum Value From The VetConnectNTX Online Directory
VetConnectNTX will offer Power User Training to leaders, case managers and social workers who work directly with veterans and their families. This training will review the functionality of the VetConnectNTX online service directory and help Power Users to maximize its value for agency staff, veterans and their advocates.

In addition to searchable service categories and geographic availability, users will be able to make referrals, share listings and update agency descriptions online. Agencies will stay informed about website usage through a dashboard of reports and monthly website feature updates.

We heard you.
Participants at the Veterans Regional Needs Assessment Briefing in March and those who attended the “What Our Communities Are Teaching Us,” in June expressed interest in continuing discussions about improving the coordination of veteran services.

The threshold question about a way forward is whether a regional approach to service delivery makes sense. Is a regional approach needed and feasible? If not, what is? The North Texas Veterans Funders Collaborative will host a professionally facilitated strategy discussion in November 2016. (Date and time still under discussion.) We will limit participation to a single representative from each agency, include agencies from across the region, and keep the number of participants small enough to enable a meaningful discussion.
