Yogananda's India
Becoming a Master

November 2016 Newsletter

Dear extended spiritual family,

Our initial plan was to have the documentary completed by now, but it is taking more time than expected. We want to make certain it is the best we are capable of producing, so we return again and again to refine and edit our presentation.

Together we serve as producers, directors, videographers, editors, artists, graphic designers, sound editors... and are enjoying it! We are simultaneously planning post-production, packaging, marketing, and streaming services. Thank you for your patience and ongoing support.

For those of you who have asked, there was no October newsletter. During most of the month Hélène was back on the west coast. She returned with incredibly beautiful images she filmed, additional scenes for the movie.

Swami Nirvanananda completed recording the amazing theme song he composed for Yogananda's India. He created three different versions, including an instrumental track for use in backgrounds and transitions. Divine!

We are grateful to have our lives and project nurtured by the loving support of those who have shared their interest, encouragement, and in some cases, finances.

This month we present images from the life of Sriyukteswarji. Above, the banyan tree at Rai Ghat where he met Babaji Maharaj. Below, his three ashrams and quarterly publication.

We wish you all a holy and blessed holiday season.

In joy,

Ron & Hélène
Priyadham, literally "abode of love", the first ashram founded by Priyanath Karar Swami at his family home in Serampore. It was the headquarters of his Sadhu Sabha organization where the quarterly magazine Sadhu Sambad was published.
Karar Ashram - Karar literally meaning "servant" - Sriyukteswar's seaside hermitage and residential school established in Puri for the young students of his Sadhu Sabha.
Sriyukteswar established Pranavashram at Ranamahal in Benares. His rented rooms had a balcony overlooking the Ganges. It was here that he brought Mukunda for their first meeting.
A 1938 issue of Sadhu Sambad, Sriyukteswar's quarterly publication for his Sadhu Sabha organization. With articles in English and Bengali, it was printed at his Priyadham Ashram in Serampore.
Thank you for your interest.
We have been blessed with the inspiration and guidance to create Yogananda's India, a documentary on Yogananda's early years in India with insights into the culture and spiritual masters that influenced and supported him to become one of the greatest saints of the last century.
