Partner with Shipman & Goodman, and Norwalk Resident, Joins the Board of Directors of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County

(Norwalk, CT) – Bringing his desire to support the contribution arts & culture make to Fairfield County communities, Peter J. Bilfield, of Norwalk, and a Partner with the law firm of Shipman & Goodwin in Stamford, has joined the Board of Directors of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County (CAFC), the region’s premier arts & cultural organization. 

As a long-time resident of Fairfield County, and as a member of the business community, Peter  "...welcomes the opportunity to join the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County in its efforts to support and expand the region’s cultural endeavors." The organization's Board President, Cindy Vaccaro, applauds Peter's decision to join the Board as "Peter is a welcome addition to our board; he brings great enthusiasm for our mission and goals, as well as his professional expertise and networks."

Peter is a partner in the Stamford offices of Shipman & Goodwin, where his practice focuses on investment management, and corporate and securities law. He represents investment advisers and private investment funds in all aspects of their business. He attended Cornell University and is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was the Notes and Comments Editor of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. Peter is admitted to both the Connecticut and New York BAR associations.

Currently, CAFC, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, has over 450 members, comprised of nonprofit arts and culture organizations - inclusive of libraries and municipalities - plus creative businesses, and individual artists. The mission of the organization is to support its membership and the cultural sector by providing promotion, services and advocacy, which it carries out in a myriad of ways. For example, CAFC convenes quarterly professional development workshops for the executive and marketing staff of its member organizations, as well as maintains the regions most comprehensive online event calendar for all things arts & culture, CAFC is also one of the State of Connecticut, Office of the Arts's (COA), "Designated Regional Service Organizations," which are directed to develop, convene, and sustain the arts industry, develop cross-sector relationships, and provide support for specific COA programs and services.
