Norwalk, CT - The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County (CAFC) is pleased to announce the addition of two stellar individuals to the Board of Directors, Philp Kuchma, President of the Kuchma Corporation located in Bridgeport, and Janet Schwartz-O’Leary, owner of JSO Art Associates located in Stratford. The two join an impressive Board of Directors who serve and support the regional nonprofit organization, which is comprised of a membership of over 300 nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, municipalities, libraries and creative businesses, plus 200 individual artists - and is further supported by an Advisory Council comprised of accomplished and nationally renowned individuals from the artistic and cultural arena - who call Fairfield County home. The mission of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County, a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Norwalk, is to support its membership and the cultural sector of Fairfield County by providing promotion, services and advocacy.
Phil Kuchma is returning to CAFC’s Board of Directors, where he was a key member of the organization’s founding board in 2010. The Kuchma Corporation, begun in 1972, has completed numerous commercial, industrial, and residential projects for many of the area’s leading institutions and property owners. In 2012 the corporation was one of ten companies to receive a Timmy Award for Excellence in Historic Rehabilitation from the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association for its development of Bijou Square in Bridgeport. Phil has been a Bridgeport City Council member, chair of the Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation and the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. In addition, he has sat on the boards of the Bridgeport Arts Council, City Lights Gallery, the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra, Playhouse one the Green and Polka Dot Playhouse. 

Janet Schwartz O’Leary, a longtime Stratford resident, is the owner of JSO Art Associates, a full service art advisory firm that works with corporate, hospitality, medical and residential clients assisting in the selection and procurement of fine art and framing. Prior to starting up the firm, Janet work for 20 years as a commercial interior designer serving clients in Fairfield County and New York City. Janet stated she is “…excited to be a member of the Board of Directors and with my experience in the design field, I bring a great understanding to the Cultural Alliance of working with artists, designers, corporations and local businesses.”

Healey (New Canaan), Lisa Hobbs (New Canaan), Jenn Bond Huisking (Westport), Michael Kalman (Westport), Bill Kraus (Monroe), Lynette Turner (Southport), and Cheryl R. Williams (Stamford).

The Advisory Council of CAFC consists of such highly accomplished individuals as Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famers Chris Franz & Tina Weymouth, classical pianist Frederic Chiu, comedian Lisa Lampenelli, Tony-award winning actor James Naughton, photographer Helen During, Broadway producer/director Lynne Meadow, and the actors Mia Dillon, Keir Dullea, Johanna Gleason, Chris Sarandon, and many more individuals, all of whom reside in Fairfield County.
