Subject: Uh-Oh

Dear Friends,

Join us this Sunday at 8 a.m. or 10:30 am. for worship!  We will be welcoming Michael Burton and Mark Haeseler into membership and be blessed by the theme, "Lord, make us instruments of your peace."

"Now there were some Greeks who came, saying, 'We wish to see Jesus.'"

In this age of marketing, social media, and attracting "followers", most of us would be happy if a whole new "demographic" wanted to connect with us.  But surprisingly, when the Greeks come saying they want to meet Jesus, the first thing out of his mouth is a pronounced, "Uh-Oh."

Why the strange reaction?   We'll reflect on Jesus' mind and heart, and be blessed with how Jesus transforms a painful moment into one of redemption and hope.

You can connect with Michael at michaeljhaisler@ymail.com

Coffee Hour Servers—Are you looking for something easy to do for Pilgrim Lutheran Church? Coffee Hour is in need of two or three more people or families to fill in our rotation for those who have resigned. Your team serves 4 times a year and the contributions people give can be given to your favorite charity or kept as a reimbursement to you. The list is posted on the bulletin board at the back of church. If you are interested to be a team or would just like to do one special day, please contact Anne Barsano at cbarsano@aol.com or 773-472-6037. Thank you!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Plans for Cinco de Pilgrim are well underway - the annual spring party on May 5th is going to be a fantastic celebration of our community. We have a great group of volunteers, but we’re still in need of a few more people to round out the team. If you would be willing to give a few hours of your time, we would be so grateful. We are specifically looking for help in the areas of donations and sponsorships - it’s work that can largely be done from the comfort of your couch! Email Ana Caref if you’re able to help: analisacaref@gmail.com

A Meal Train for Judy Daniel has been set up as she recovers from knee surgery and her recent hospital visit. The meals can be delivered to Pilgrim and then volunteers will take them to her. Financial Update: The council, the finance team, Principal Comella, and Pastor Johnson have been working together to address a lack of bookkeeping accuracy in a thorough and expedient manner. There has been a change in the business office. Ms. Zenzile Larry is no longer employed at Pilgrim. We have hired an interim bookkeeping clerk, Grayce O’Toole, who started Monday, March 12th, in the business office. Her email is business@pilgrimchicago.org Grayce is working as an interim because we want to take the time to interview multiple candidates before making a permanent hire. Thank you for your patience, feedback, and support.
