This is for every women to listen to when God wants you to say YES. The books will be distributed at our first session. Confirmation Interest Night - In this time in which our children are growing so fast, spiritual growth and positive peer support are so important. For this reason, Pilgrim offers a program called confirmation, which enables 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to grow in their relationship with God. With fun trips and retreats, service projects, worship participation, and interactive classes, our students grow a strong faith foundation that will last for a lifetime. This program is open to all students regardless of their background, religious affiliation, or church membership.
I'd like to invite you to our upcoming pizza dinner and confirmation interest meeting on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:30 p.m. at the Pilgrim Parsonage, 4332 N. Winchester Ave. (just north of Pilgrim). Coming to this info meeting does not commit you to the program. If you aren't able to make the meeting, but would like to receive the information about the program, please contact Pastor at 773-990-0813.

Opening the Treasure Kick-Off Wednesday, October 4th - What is Opening the Treasure? It is a an experience for children, youth, and parents/caregivers together to grow in faith together. This year, we will be using Rev. Dr. Rich Melheim's Course, "Holding your Family Together." Researched, taught and tweaked in 150 cities from the US, to Korea, to Canada to India, the course will help you solidify a family faith revolution into the heart of church and the hearth of your homes in simple, beautiful and powerful ways in 6 weeks. It will transform churches as it transforms families into faith communities who share highs and lows. Please join us at 5:30 p.m. at the church parsonage at 4332 N. Winchester to learn more.

Thrivent matching $3 Million - Thrivent members have an opportunity to double the impact of their gift. Personal donations can be made on www.Thrivent.com to provide assistance to hurricane victims. When you do, Thrivent will double the impact - up to a total of $3 million. To donate to them, simply click on Lutheran Disaster Response. Remember all gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response, designated for "Hurricane Response – United States" will be used entirely (100 percent) for hurricane recovery.

Financial Update - We are very thankful for our Bookkeeper Mrs. Zenzile Larry, who, in her first six months, has helped us restore our books after a challenging time of transition. Because of this ongoing work, we have not been able to send out quarterly giving reports so far this year. We are working very hard to be able to send out giving reports after the third quarter, in early October. We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your patience.
