October 4th, 2015

Dear Friends,

We are on a roll!
September 13th- Wonderful outdoor worship, Installation of Teachers, and block party
September 20th- Installation of Office Administrators, Sunday School Teachers, and successful launch of new Children's Ministry schedule
September 27th- El Salvador Sunday and a joyful Baptism

And this Sunday, we settle into a new series: Faith Is...

What purpose does faith serve in today's world? What difference does it make in our lives? This Sunday we will begin at looking at the prophets, and how God spoke through them in many and various ways, and how God might speak into our lives today.

We also invite you to a wonderful workshop on finances by Ed Nelson: Your Legacy; Family, Church and Charity at 9:15 a.m.

See you in worship at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m., with Sunday School and nursery beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Luggage Drive for UCAN
During the month of September, as part of this fall's "Season of Service" project, we are having a Luggage Drive for UCAN.  (www.ucanchicago.org)  UCAN's mission is to support youth who have suffered trauma from abuse or neglect.  The luggage is needed for when the children are moved to foster care.  New and lightly used luggage and duffle bag donations can be placed on the north west wall of the narthex underneath the bulletin boards.  Profits from the block party, along with matching funds from Thrivent (THANK YOU!) , will be donated to UCAN's Youth Starter Kit/Essentials Programs. Thank you for your participation and generosity!
