Subject: Listen

Dear Friends,

Join us this coming Sunday as we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday and reflect on the words: "This is my Son, my Chosen, listen to him!" Is it possible to hear Jesus' voice in our day-to-day life? If so, how?

Come to the mountaintop with us at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m....

GATHERING OPPORTUNITIES
Lent at Pilgrim 2016 “40 Days of Creativity”
Because we are all made in God’s image...we are creative! (Genesis 1:26) Our Lenten Theme is “40 Days of Creativity”. Each Wednesday starting on February 10th, we gather at 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. for a community dinner for all ages, followed by an interactive prayer/creative activity that will draw us closer to God, to one another, and our community! We are looking for creative ideas and people to weave together as we journey toward the cross and the empty tomb. We also recommend a book for your Lenten Journey: “The Artisan Soul” by Erwin McManus on Amazon.com, either as an ebook or as a hard copy as we move through “40 Days of Creativity” throughout Lent.

We are hosting a three week pottery project which will occur in conjunction with our First Communion class. Under the leadership of Cynde Heiniger and with the help of Pilgrim’s kiln, each child will design, sculpt and fire
their very own clay cup (chalice) which will serve as a meaningful symbol of faith that each family can receive into their home. Sessions will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February, 17th, 24th and March 2nd. Please RSVP to kdanner@pilgrimchicago.org including the age of your child and whether you as an adult can come and help as well. Many thanks to Cynde Heiniger for coordinating this wonderful project! (You are not required to sign up for First Communion to participate in this project)

We will accompany the church in their work to resettle and feed refugees, help children attend school, help bring solar electricity to rural homes, minister with the homeless, and encourage our sister churches who raise Christian voices for human rights on a daily basis. This trip is open to all people. ALL AGES WELCOME, no Spanish knowledge requited. Please talk to Pastor Kristian or Pastor Anna-Kari for more information.
