Subject: Home

Dear Friends,

Sometimes in our lives, we end up feeling disconnected from God. We long for a place of rest and true communion with our Creator and with others.

In the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-24), we see two sons... one who has made some obvious bad decisions, and one that has made some obvious good decisions. Yet both end up experiencing a disconnect from God and from their true home.

Join us this Sunday as we experience Grace reconnecting us again to our true home... our relationship with God.
GATHERING OPPORTUNITIES
“40 Days of Creativity” - Because we are all made in God’s image...we are creative! (Genesis 1:26) Our Lenten Theme is “40 Days of Creativity”. Each Wednesday through March 16th, we gather at 6:15 p.m. for a community dinner for all ages, followed by an interactive prayer/creative activity that will draw us closer to God, to one another, and our community! Next week, March 9th, Bianka Hardin will be leading people of all ages in a collaging/vision board activity. This process will be fun and will help us reflect on our identity and journey, and can lead to new insights and connections! Please bring images, magazines, old calendars, etc. so we will have materials for this wonderful intergenerational project.

PREPARE (GROWTH) OPPORTUNITIES
Studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran Pastor and Martyr of the 20th Century
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a pastor in Germany during the Second World War and the reign of the Third Reich. He was a prominent writer and theologian, and his faith led him to stand up against the Nazi regime in support of his Jewish brothers and sisters who were being persecuted. This decision led to his imprisonment and death at the hands of Nazi Germany on April 9, 1945.
An adult forum series (9:15am, Sunday mornings in the fellowship hall) beginning on February 28 will focus on who Dietrich Bonhoeffer was, and explore the following themes: March 6 (What can we learn about Judaism?), March 13 (What does the ELCA say about anti-Semitism?), and April 3 (How does Bonhoeffer’s life inform our faith today?).
A devotional containing short reflections on some of Bonhoeffer’s writings about faith is available on the table in the Narthex so that all who do not attend the adult forum can still participate in this congregation-wide discussion. Questions? Talk to Marissa Becklin, Ministry in Context Student at marissa.becklin@lstc.edu

Prayer Ministry
Prayer time at the parsonage (4332 N Winchester), Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
