Subject: Breaking Open

Dear Friends,

While we are set to "lose" an hour on Sunday morning, as we gather in worship, we will gain so much!

Beauty... inspiration...connection... uplifting music... renewal... inspired by our scriptures for the day and manifested in the baptisms of Sam and Mabel Abu-Absi at the 10:30 a.m. service.

So please join us at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. this Sunday.. and don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour!

PREPARE (GROWTH) OPPORTUNITIES
Studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran Pastor and Martyr of the 20th Century—Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a pastor in Germany during the Second World War and the reign of the Third Reich. He was a prominent writer and theologian, and his faith led him to stand up against the Nazi regime in support of his Jewish brothers and sisters who were being persecuted. This decision led to his imprisonment and death at the hands of Nazi Germany on April 9, 1945.
An adult forum series (9:15am, Sunday mornings in the fellowship hall) beginning on February 28 will focus on who Dietrich Bonhoeffer was, and explore the following themes: March 13 (What does the ELCA say about anti-Semitism?), and April 3 (How does Bonhoeffer’s life inform our faith today?).
A devotional containing short reflections on some of Bonhoeffer’s writings about faith is available on the table in the Narthex so that all who do not attend the adult forum can still participate in this congregation-wide discussion. Questions? Talk to Marissa Becklin, Ministry in Context Student at marissa.becklin@lstc.edu
