Subject: Beyond the Game

View this email online if it doesn't display correctly

Most of us will be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, or at least the commercials. But do you know what's REALLY special about what's happening this Sunday?

Something bigger than the game. Something eternal. Something important for the here and now. Something that changes our kids lives and our own.

It's worship. Worship inspires us and prepares us for life.

Just think about the amount of hours the Atlanta and New England players have spent working out or on the practice field, versus how many hours they have actually been playing in a real game. The time they spend in games is dwarfed by the time they have spent in training and preparation!

When it comes to our lives, it's flip flopped. We spend very little time on our spiritual growth compared to living our lives. But let us remember... God makes the most of every moment we have in worship and in spiritual community...

Come be strengthened by God's Word and presence this coming Sunday at 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.!

Strategies for Increasing Connection Through Caring Conversations - A presentation on how to be a supportive and caring listener will be offered to the entire congregation on Sunday March 5th, with the time and place yet to be determined (either between services or after the late service). The presenter will be Bianka Hardin, PsyD and Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Pilgrim member. The program is intended to help all of us in our communication with partners, children, family, friends and neighbors, as well as those we might be visiting through the Care Ministry, and is especially needed in this time as we try to address the fears and heal the divisions in our communities.
