GATHERING OPPORTUNITIES
Legacy Bricks Dedication
Join us on Sunday, May 31st at 9:30 am.. for a special dedication of the "Legacy Bricks" in the newly installed Gathering Garden.   The "Legacy Bricks" feature the name of past teachers, Principals, and Pastors that have served throughout Pilgrim's history.  Our featured guest that day will be Dr. Richard Calhoun, currently a professor of mathematics and physics at Concordia University in River Forest.  Dr. Calhoun is the grandson of Pilgrim's first Principal, Alfred Rumsfeld.  Please spread the word among alumni and friends of Pilgrim.

Women’s Bible Study
Come to Marta Hardacre’s house: 4335 N Winchester Ave #1 at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28th (TONIGHT!) to join other women as we consider together the answer to the question: “How do we find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama and daily duties?” We will facilitate this discussion through the five-week Bible study based on bestselling author, Ann Voskamp’s book One Thousand Gifts. Prayer Ministry
Join us for prayer time at the parsonage every Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (4332 N. Winchester Ave.)
VBS Registration Deadline is Near!
Registration for this summer's VBS program, Camp Discovery, closes June 15th.  Kids ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to sign up for a week of stories, music, crafts and games. Pilgrim Preschool and Kindergarten through 8th Grade School has seats available!
Tours happen weekly on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Other times may be arranged by appointment.  Please contact Principal Chris Comella at comella.pilgrim@gmail.com or at 773-477-4824 for more information or to schedule a tour. 
Note: FULL DAY—We have now opened a limited number of seats for three-year-olds in the morning class... with options for the afternoon as well, thus making it possible for a 3 year old to attend a full day program at Pilgrim.  Please help spread the word!

Summer Enrichment Program
Are you still looking for activities for your little ones this summer? There are still spots left in our Pilgrim Summer Enrichment Program for children ages 4 years old to 3rd grade. IT’S THE FIRST!
Pilgrim Lutheran School is thrilled to receive our very first grant from the Dave Maring Endowment Fund. The Maring Fund was set up by the Pilgrim Church and School community in 2014 to support the school in a variety of ways. For the 2014-2015 school year,  the Maring Fund awarded over $2,600, which has been applied to our tuition assistance program. Pilgrim School extends a HUGE “Thank You” to the Dave Maring Endowment Fund and to all its donors for their support of Pilgrim.

Save the Date and Get Involved!
Save the Date! Pilgrim's annual block party will be on Sunday, September 13th. We are already getting ready for food, fun and fellowship!  We are specifically looking for key leaders in organizing activities, kitchen coordination, marketing and outreach, and logistics.  We are also looking for someone to design a flyer. Pilgrim is Accredited by ELCA with 9 Commendations!
The visit last week was at the end of 18 months of preparation by the teachers, the school office, the Board of Education and the Church Council. Our in-house team leader, Halley Williams, coordinated the preparation of an 878 page document for the national team's review. Every staff member also prepared a portfolio of artifacts, each of which was at least a couple hundred pages in length. After reading through our documents and observing our school on Monday and Tuesday, Pilgrim not only earned full accreditation, but also 9 commendations. WOW! Many thanks to everyone on staff, on PTL, on the BOE and on Council for your help, and special thanks to Halley Williams for coordinating this herculean task.  
Hot Meals

Hot Meals Plus has made it easy for you to sign up to be a driver by setting up a SignUpGenius page. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
Gift Cards make the perfect gift for graduation, showers, and Father's Day, with amounts from $5 to $100 available.  We will be selling Sunday, Monday and Friday next week and Sunday through Wednesday the last week of school.  Don't forget to pick up Peapod, Whole Foods, Jewel, Mariano's, Meijer and Strack and vanTil cards for your summer grocery shopping and Dairy Queen (also good at Orange Julius), Baskin Robbins/Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks for a little treat for yourself!  We have iTunes, AMC and Regal $10 cards (good for everything at the show) for the graduates,  Barnes & Noble and Bath and Body Works in $10 and $25 increments for that special sitter and Amazon in $10, $25, $50 and $100 for anyone on your gift list. Send your order into the school office with a check or give it to the Sunday Seller and you will have it before school lets out!  Please contact Anne Barsano with questions or orders at cbarsano@aol.com or (773) 472-6037. Market Day 
Orders for the FINAL Market Day of the year are due in the school office by Noon Friday, May 29th, or online at www.marketday.com by 11 p.m. Saturday, May 30th. Pick up is Thursday, June 4th, 3-4 p.m., or at PAS, or Sunday, June 7th (for church members).  Check out the clearance section! During the summer, you can buy select Market Day items at Gordon Food Service stores in the area.  When you shop, mention account #4593 and Pilgrim will receive 10% of your entire order, including GFS items.  There is a "$5 off $50" coupon at GFS in the Market Day order form, which is good until June 27th. You can also order online and have your order shipped to your nearest Gordon store for FREE.  Pilgrim still receives 10% of your order.  Thank you for your support of Market Day throughout the school year and the summer! 
Play Lot Update
We have raised $32,000 for the play lot renovation! This is an amazing response from our Pilgrim community and we THANK YOU! This includes the $10,360 on the WeRaise site, $15,000 from the fund-a-project donors at the auction, Chicago Pizza day sponsored by PTL, Popsicles in the play lot, operetta dvd orders, and generous donations that have come into the school office. The reality is that quotes are coming in, and we’re estimating that the project will cost $40,000 - $45,000, not including the little kids' play deck. If we can raise a bit more, we can improve it more!  It’s not too late to make a donation through the school office. 

We are looking for someone to sponsor a jungle gym for $3,200. (yes playgrounds are expensive!) This is a playground feature that we want to add and that will please children of all ages! It will go in the garden space. We’ll need resilient surface underneath this and the climbing wall. That will be expensive too! (site prep, material, labor).

Other specifics to sponsor: 2 new basketball backboards $300 each outdoor volleyball stands  $549, volleyball net $75, climbing handholds for climbing wall 4 gifts of $200
