Faith5 Journal for Parents
We are glad to be offering a wonderful resource for parents who are ready to try the Faith5 Devotions in their homes: Share, Read, Talk, Pray, Bless. It comes in the form of a “Biblesongs In-Home Journal.” It provides story pages for parents to review and teach the bible passages we are lifting up in Sunday School from December 8th until the end of the Sunday School year in May. It also includes a family journal, where all members of the family can write down their “highs and lows” from each day, along with the reflections on the bible for that day. The cost of this journal is $15. Please email the Pastor at revkristian@yahoo.com or sign up on the clipboard at the back of the church if you are interested in obtaining one of these journals. Thank you!

Pilgrim PRAYER and CARE PACKAGE BASKETS
Please help put together simple baskets to show people God’s love. Pilgrim has a list of people who are “shut in” and cannot come to church. You can also suggest anyone you would like to receive a basket.
If you would like, please help gather ANY of the following this week (we hope to make 30 or more baskets, so it is great to have 30 of each item or just as many as you can): cards, pictures, fruit, a Christmas decoration, tea bag or hot chocolate packet, bottle of hand sanitizer, hand soap, or lotion, a devotion, or anything that cheers you up. Please bring them to the parsonage (4332 N. Winchester Ave.) and help us assemble the baskets on Saturday morning, 8:30 a.m. at our Prayer Breakfast, where Pastor will be serving up fresh pancakes! We will also finish assembling baskets Sunday, Nov. 24 during the coffee hours in the Church Basement.

Coat Angels Shopping and Delivery Opportunities
Coat Angels, founded by Pilgrim parent Micki LaSeur, provides coats for children in the city that would otherwise have no coat to wear this winter. A $50 donation provides a coat, hat, mittens and a scarf for one child, and makes a wonderful Christmas gift for friends and family. We will be selling gift cards after the 10:30 service on Sundays through December 1st. You can also purchase a gift card by contacting Pilgrim parent Lara Otsuka at lcotsuka@gmail.com
Please join us for a Coat Angels shopping night on Wednesday, December 4th! We'll meet by the school doors at 6:30 p.m. and then break into groups to shop for coats. If you are interested, please contact Lara Otsuka at lcotsuka@gmail.com or 773-944-5648, so we know that you are coming.
Also, on Tuesday morning, December 17th, we will be delivering coats to the kids at Pablo Casals Elementary School. This is a wonderful opportunity to see Coat Angels in action! If you are interested, please contact Lara Otsuka (contact info above) or Micki LeSueur at mickilesueur@gmail.com for details. Thank you for your support of this wonderful organization!
Pablo Casals Toy Drive
Donate a gift to be given to a student at Pablo Casals school who might not get a gift otherwise. Wrap and mark the gift as boy, girl, or either. $10 limit please. Our Goal is 190 gifts this year. Help us make our goal!
Christmas Cards for Soldiers
Pilgrim’s former Pastor, Karl Redelsheimer, is now currently serving as a Chaplain for the US Army and is currently serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He has shared with us through his wife Kim that he would be happy to pass out Christmas cards to soldiers, if any of you are interested in writing cards to them. What a great way to encourage those who are serving our country.

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
The Flea Market was a great success, earning $500+ for our missionaries in South Africa, the Knutsens. Thank you to everyone who donated items, helped with setup, pricing, manning the Pilgrim tables, bought tables, provided security and helped with the clean-up afterward. We couldn't have done it without you.

Gift cards will be sold on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday next week because of Thanksgiving. Be sure to pick up some gift cards before you go shopping for the Toy Drive and for your Christmas shopping.

Market Day orders are due Monday, Dec 2nd for pick up on Thursday, Dec 5th. We still have the following desserts available: Apple Cinnamon Silk Pie and Turtle Cheesecake (pre-sliced) $14.25, Pecan pie $13.23 and Chocolate Java Cake $15.26. Only the cake is available on the December order form.

Our Prayer for Sunday
O God, our true life, to serve you is freedom, and to know you is unending joy. We worship you, we glorify you, we give thanks to you for your great glory. Abide with us, reign in us, and make this world into a fit habitation for your divine majesty, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Sunday’s Readings
The first reading is
Jeremiah 23:1–6Today's reading builds on the common ancient Near Eastern metaphor of the king as shepherd. Judah’s unjust rulers have caused their people, their “flock,” to be scattered. Nevertheless, the Lord will raise up a new and righteous shepherd who will rule a restored Judah.

The second reading is Colossians 1:11–20An early Christian hymn praises the mystery of the political, personal, and mystical Christ, the one who was present at creation and is eternally reigning with God.

l is The Gospel is Luke 23:33–43:  Amid scoffing and slander from those who sarcastically call him Messiah and king, Jesus reveals that to be Messiah and king is to give one's life for others. Here he uses his power to welcome a despised sinner to paradise but puts his own death into God's hands.
