Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival! (all ages)
Saturday, June 18 @ 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM
Kick off the summer reading program with carnival games, refreshments, prizes, outdoor play and more! Face painting and balloon animals by UpBeat students from 12:00-2:00 PM. Rain or shine. For all ages, no registration is necessary.

Summer Reading for Adults
We will be giving away fun prize bags throughout the summer. Every time you read a book (or listen to an audiobook) over the summer, enter your titles online. Each one counts as an entry into the drawing. The more you read, the more chances you have to win! Earn a coupon for a free Pralines ice cream just for signing up (while supplies last).

Gettysburg: The Forgotten Day 
Monday, June 20 @ 6:30 pm
Matthew Bartlett, author of the Gettysburg Chronicle, will discuss the first day of battle during the Civil War's most decisive moment. This is not a strategy or military lecture, but focuses instead on the stories of people, places, things which set the tone for the rest of the battle. Click here to register.

Rock the Block LEGO’s (grades K+)
Saturday, June 25 @ 1 pm
Calling all LEGO fanatics! You won't want to miss this block-filled afternoon. We provide the LEGO bricks and upbeat music to build by, you provide the imagination! For grades K+ (younger children welcome with an adult caregiver).

Chapter Chat

A new book club for elementary school readers. You read the book at home and then join us for a lively discussion and craft based on the book. There are no wrong answers in Chapter Chat, just fun! Copies are available at the Children’s Reference desk.

Toddler & Preschool Drive-In Movie
Tuesday, June 28 @ 2:00 PM
A special "drive-in" movie just for children ages 2-5 and their grown-ups! Bring a box that your child can sit in and we'll have craft supplies on hand to decorate your child's "car"! We'll then enjoy a snack and a short video. Get in gear and drive on over! Please reserve your parking space by registering beginning June 21.

Speed Dating with a Book (grades 6+)

Are you ready to make a connection...with a book? You'll have a few minutes to get to know books in different genres until the time bomb goes off and it's on to the next round. Find one you'd like to know better? Check it out! Feeling daring? Take a book on a Blind Date! Pizza and beverages will be served. Registration is required, beginning June 22.

Adult Coloring
Monday, June 27, 6:30 pm
Zen and the Art of Coloring. Coloring is a relaxing activity even for adults! Come out and treat yourself to some free time to color, listen to music and socialize. We'll supply the intricate coloring sheets and colored pencils. You are also welcome to bring your own coloring utensils. Coloring pages provided.
