Author Event

What is Connecticut food? Which crops, livestock and beverages have shaped the complex cuisines that people have cherished for more than four centuries? This exciting investigation will please every epicure who appreciates the story behind a meal and every budding chef who longs for the secrets of favorite local dishes.

Authors Eric D. Lehman and Amy Nawrocki will open the mind and the mouth with their fun presentation about local food and wine. Copies of “A History of Connecticut Wine: Vineyard in Your Backyard” and “A History of Connecticut Food” will be available for purchase.

Please note: Due to damage from a burst sprinkler pipe, our children's department will be closed until at least March 12th.  Please visit our website or Facebook page for updates.  We do have a small selection of children's books in our lobby available for checkout.  Many people have been asking how they can best help.  After careful consideration, we have set up a GoFundMe page.  See details here.
