We're excited about...
Dance Mob! (adults, teens & children grades 2+)
Be a part of a fun flash mob. Instructor Sharyn Farrell of Dancealife will conduct 3 rehearsals at the library, culminating in the Mob Date at the New Britain Museum of American Art on Aug. 18. We promise that the choreography will be easy enough for everyone to learn! Great family fun! Everyone will receive a T-Shirt to commemorate the event. Registration is required.

Art Expression
Tuesday, August 2 & 9 @ 2pm
Join us for an exciting afternoon of art making. We’ll provide the supplies and you’ll provide the imagination. Each week Miss Sarah will make a small project with the kids and then give them time to build a masterpiece with the same supplies leading up to the final week’s group art project. Each week artists will explore a new medium.
Minecrafters (grades 2-12)
Wednesday, August 3 @ 2pm 
The library now has a Minecraft server! Visit the Children's Dept. and fill out a form to be granted access (whitelisted). There will be prize drawings of Minecraft items, and snacks will be provided.

The 2017 Nutmeg Nominees are here! Join us as we talk about whether or not Space Case By Stuart Gibbs has what it takes to be the 2017 Nutmeg winner. No right or wrong answers, just bring your opinions! Each month we’ll read one nominee and see if we can predict the state wide winner by the end of the voting period. Geared toward grades 3 and up.

An Education in the Grotesque: Gargoyles of Yale University
Tuesday, September 27
Join us for an evening with photographer and author Matthew Duman who will talk on the Gargoyles of Yale University. In his lecture Matthew will highlight a selection of gargoyles and grotesques found on the buildings of the Yale University campus in New Haven, CT. Using original photographs from his book, Matt explores the artistic, historic, architectural and even humorous significance of these decorative sculptures and their role in communicating the identity of Yale University as a place of learning and enlightenment.  Registration begins soon.
