In the Spirit of the Paint
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21

Month of February. Make sure you check out my website blog or my regular blog. There will be heart paintings given away throughout the month.

You can sign up for my MONDAY MORNING JOURNAL and only once a week you get to see it all in a glance or one email for my  paintings. BUT if you want to win a free heart painting, you have to watch daily for when they are available and make a comment to be entered.

Moved Out. You read it correctly. A week after the January newsletter went out, Lady L and I had to pack up the studio and shove pieces of it into three different upstairs rooms. Terry began his remodeling work.

I am the sailor without a boat; the cook without a kitchen; the artist without an easel.

Renovation Begins.  Terry ripped out all of the carpet in three upstairs bedrooms, the game room and the media room. At the writing of this newsletter he is just finishing the floors in the media room and game room where I work.
The walls are a wonderful gray. We have shades of gray throughout the house. Our music room is a dark almost black gray and our bedroom is a dark gray. There are some accent walls with a mid gray, but this color is Network Gray and it covers most of the walls. Gray does not intrude on color palettes which vary in every room. Lady L's guest room is lavender and the other two bedrooms a gray blue. The floors are a laminate to match the upstairs landing. Not our first choice but so easy for cleaning up my paint.
This was Lady L painting just before we packed up. Actually we were packing up and moving things behind her as she painted on the landing that day. She did not get her painting complete and is eager to help me move things back in once her Grandpa finishes the baseboards.
  • By March the studio will be in full working order.
  • By March I will finally begin my small horses for the year. Not sure how many to paint. Ideas? Many of you write me you loved seeing more diversity in my art. Please let me know.

Lady L has a new Sister.  The last weekend in the month we welcome Lady L's new baby Sister, Lady M. She was in a hurry to arrive and met us all with a lusty cry as she greeted us.

Plans are in place to add another easel in the next 24 months so we will have three artists working together.

"Bampa" Terry and "Oma" Me... are over the stars in love with our new granddaughter.  Our hearts are open to embrace another.

In Appreciation for You
With my newsletters each month
I give away a painting to one of you. Watch each month for the painting and the winner. Thank you as always for

You truly are my inspiration.  Every day I hear from someone about things they love or places they have been...just to share with me ideas for painting. One of my favorite letters this past week was from Caroline Hammond. Back in 2010, I did a commissioned painting of some special guitars. This is a palette knife painting, not a brush painting. Caroline shared a picture of the painting hanging and below it the custom collector book that I did with the commission. Everyone loves to have a book showing the steps of their painting as it is created. One collector called it 'her baby book'.

"You painted us a guitar canvas back in 2010. It hangs in the best space in our house. We love it! (Notice on bottom right corner- your book is displayed, too.)

Eager to follow you and eager to see your new work." Caroline Hammond

Exel Equine Foods out of Kentucky are using one of my paintings for their food bags. I was thrilled to see them already released in stores!

While the studio was being rehabbed I decided to rehab my cards, brochures and postcards. Each year I redesign them at the first of the year and then maybe in August. It allows me to have a fresh look twice a year. If you want me to mail you one, email me and send me your address.  One will be in the mail right away.

Heart filled blessings to you this February, as the year seems to be flying by already. Together with your support my painting will continue and from the requests I have had, you may see more than horses.  Are you wanting more flowers, guitars, figures, landscapes etc? Please let me know.  My heart is open to grow, I hope yours is too.

Again I cannot thank you enough for your support of the arts as well as your support and belief in my art. I pray that I can live up to your expectations. You inspire me constantly with your wonderful emails, your suggestions for paintings, your horse images, your family pictures...I feel like we are truly family.
