HAPPENINGS NOW
  • Collectors: Kasum Contemporary Fine Art - Oklahoma City  My work will be arriving at Kasum in the next few days.  Tony Morton has invited my work to be included in Santa Fe Art 2015 represented by Kasum Contemporary at the show Santa Fe!  Yes, I have to say the month of June blows forth with 'loveliness' and abundance.
  • Texas Trails Gallery, Nocona, Texas   Watch for an announcement this month for a rescheduling of my appearance in Nocona. The May Texas Storms found us under deluge for 24 days of May with severe weather, tornadoes, hail and floods. We could not safely make the trip.
  • The Small Collectibles  have many new pieces.   I am participating in a 30 day paint off, and while I am not sure I will make every day, I will make most!  Click here to see Small Collectibles.
  • Sold Pieces off to new homes.  Below is "Brighter Than the Noon Day Sun" which sold from my website to a new collector on the East Coast. She has waited patiently for me to varnish this piece and ship it to her. Should be arriving about the time this newsletter goes out. It is rare I put one of my larger pieces on my website, but this one had a journey that you might have followed in my Daily Journal.

STUDIO NEWS
  • "It inspires the blushing rose" I wrote about constant change last month and it is definitely happening.
  • Summer Changes in our home. We are adding to our home and family. Not a new baby, but a new family. Our daughter and her family will be moving in with us and taking over 1400 sq feet upstairs.  It was a rough decision for both families and it required a constant month of prayer to begin the process. I would lie if I said I was totally sure this would work, because I am not sure. Terry and I have shared a home with one of our adult sons and his child.  We did this for six years and we did enjoy the journey of living together most of the time.  This addition is four people, but it includes Lady L in the image at the top of this letter and her baby sister, Lady M, who at this time is about 4 1/2 months old. Research tells us we have a high rate of success with this process of merging families and benefiting.  The USA is the only place in the world that does not have multigenerational families  as a constant.  It was after WWII that families began to split up and go their own ways. We are moving forward and trusting in God. If you have experienced this I would love to hear from you. We are contemplating a journal of our experiences along the way.    Please email me.
  • The changing studio... bring huge smiles to my face. I was able to retain my studio space but I had to find a place for my husband's desk to join me.  This was not difficult at all!  I now have my drafting board nearby and a good working area. The challenge will be keeping baby fingers out of paint. I have a Lowe's tool box that locks and that is what I have to remember to do. ALWAYS clean up and put my paints away.

Summer shines.  We had over 27 inches of rain in May.  Flooding is still occurring throughout our area in north Texas. It will be weeks before the Trinity is back in its banks.  In the place of daily rain and storms, we now have HOT summer temps baking us and the rain and moisture is gone.  Our tomato plants are huge and we have a dozen tomatoes each day to eat!

Remember please keep those emails coming... Keep your ideas and thoughts flowing to me. From horses, to flowers, to portraits, to the garden series... what should I paint?  My heart is open to grow, I hope yours is too.

Thank you for your belief in my art. You continue to inspire me constantly and I look forward to checking my email each day. This month I have heard from so many of you and I absolutely love it and look forward to it. I have been sick the last two weeks of this month and so glad to be on the other side of it and getting stronger day by day.
