Subject: Let Rain on the Housetop Roof be your Song

June 2016

“Come clean with a child heart
Laugh as peaches in the summer wind
Let rain on a house roof be a song
Let the writing on your face
be a smell of apple orchards on late June.”
― Carl Sandburg, Honey and Salt

From the Studio:

Finding My Groove.  We drove up to Kasum Contemporary in Oklahoma for the Preview opening last weekend... Memorial Day Weekend.  Had a wonderful time with friends that drove up and met us there and we stayed at the Skirvin Hilton in downtown OKC. We had no idea that it fell in the midst of the basketball playoffs!  The show was wonderful and Tony put out quite a spread. I meet so many wonderful people visiting the show and my favorite was a designer and concert pianist.  He felt like a brother from the moment we met.  Not sure if it was the art and music together, but I hope to see him again soon.  The best food we ate... humm both places we ate. We have lunch at the Kitchen 324. It was organic and it was delicious. We all had different things but the desserts were even better. Mine was banana Cake with deep rich buttery frosting.   In the morning we had the Sunday brunch at the Hotel and I have to say it was one of the nicest I have ever had in our travels.

Anniversary Love  Our anniversary was just before we took off for OKC.  I have known my husband for fifty one years but we were celebrating 25 years of marriage.  I cannot even remember when he was not in my life. He has been there always. We are in the process of celebrating 25 days of anniversary right now.  Pretty cool.  His idea not mine!  I have been surprised with jewelry, trips, dinners, candlelight breakfast, cleaning out the garage to move stuff yet unpacked to clear off my screened in back porch, unpacking my books...life is a surprise every day.  I could get use to this.

WILD  opens at Mirada Fine Art in Indian Hills outside of Denver on June 17th.  I am hoping Terry and I can make the trip up and I want to see you there if I do!  The show has a handful of incredible artists all with beautiful pieces of art for the wild west in you. The show runs through July 10th.
