| Looking back on 2014, the Steering Committee of the Friends of the Middle River is proud of the progress we made this year. |

With your help, we accomplished much in 2014:
- We completed our benthic monitoring at nine locations along Middle River in the spring, summer and fall.
- In the spring, we held classes to train more benthic monitors. |

We sponsored a booth at Earth Day in Staunton in April.
- We participated in several events at Kites 'n Critters in Staunton in April.
- We sponsored a Bird Walk/Canoe Float along a stretch of Middle River in April
- We held a family "Critter Catch" day along Middle River near Ft. Defiance in June. |

In late September, 70+ volunteers helped with Middle River
Clean-up Day - six miles of Middle River, 1 1/2 miles of Lewis Creek, and
most of Asylum Creek were cleaned-up that day.
In 2015, we plan to build on the success we had in 2014, and we hope you will continue to support FOMR in 2015. |
