E. coli testing in Upper Middle River Area

We use the Coliscan method for counting E. coli collected in water samples.  For more info on Coliscan, please click here.

This petri dish contains E. coli and other coliform bacteria from one of our samples.  The E. coli colonies are dark blue/purple.  How many E. coli colonies do you count in this dish?

 Atlantic Coast Pipeline Update

Dominion is sponsoring an open house on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, 5-7:30 p.m., at the Churchville Elementary School Cafeteria to present information about the newly adopted alternative route proposed in February.

From 3-4:00 that day, Gwen Mason, from Senator Tim Kaine's office in Roanoke, will conduct a "Kaine Connects" Open House at the Library prior to the ACP meeting.  The Board of FOMR is concerned that the ACP will have a negative impact on the water resources of Augusta County, and we encourage those of you who feel the same way to come early to ask Senator Kaine to help in re-routing the ACP away from Augusta County.

Also, the Forest Service is accepting comments now to help them decide whether or not to issue a permit for environmental and cultural resource surveys to be conducted on the George Washington National Forest.
