April 27th Bird Walk/Canoe Float

It's not too late to register for FOMR's Bird Walk/Canoe Float along Middle River in Ft Defiance.  Join us at 535 Bailey Road in Ft. Defiance at 11:00 AM.  You can walk along the River or ride/paddle a canoe or kayak.  Please register here to reserve a canoe space if you want to bird watch from a canoe.
A Call for Volunteers - Riverfest

Riverfest in Waynesboro needs 4 - 5 canoeists to help take visitors on canoe rides along South River during the Riverfest event on May 3rd.  Volunteers are needed throughout the day from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.  Riverfest supplies all the canoes, paddles, etc.   If you can volunteer a couple of hours, please click here to send an email stating you would like to volunteer.  You are welcome to bring your own paddle and life preserver, if you'd like.
FOMR Canoe/Kayak Club

Are you interested in joining or helping to organize a Middle River Canoe/Kayak Club?  We are looking for active canoeists and kayakers who enjoy paddling Middle River.  Click here to indicate your interest.

The Friends of Shenandoah Mountain (FOSM) is a coalition of organizations, businesses and individuals advocating for designation of a 90,000 acre tract of Shenandoah Mountain as a National Scenic Area with four embedded Wilderness areas.  Learn more about FOSM by clicking here
