2016 - Tenth Annual Page Turner Contest An opportunity for TWO FaithWriters members to be published.
This year, there will be TWO PAGE TURNER WINNERS - one from the FICTION submissions, and one from the NONFICTION submissions.
These two champions will each receive:
1. A fabulous cash prize of $250 (US);
2. The offer of traditional publication of their winning manuscript by Breath of Fresh Air Press (A minimum of 15 entries must be received for publishing offer to apply.);
3. Free publicity and marketing of their book on all FaithWriters' sites for twelve months following publication; and
4. A special Page Turner Champion award plaque.

Previous Challenge Entry (Level 4 – Masters) Topic: Bridge (07/31/08) TITLE: The Journey By Amy Michelle Wiley
It arches against the horizon, the firm wooden slats giving slivered glimpses of the river below. The scent of cedar rises strong and heady in the breeze. He stands on the bank before it, waiting for me. He calls me by name, and we step together, He and I, onto the bridge. Onto the path of My Journey.
When we reach the middle, the tallest point, I gasp, jerking to a stop. The joy so nearly bubbling from within me dies, the creeping grasp of dread reaching to my throat.
On the other bank the smooth wood of the bridge abruptly meets a dirt trail, rocky and pitted with crevices. The dark path twists downward, emptying into a valley filled with fog so thick it allows only shifting glances of thorny hedges and jagged boulders.
“But Lord,” I turn to look at Him, tears already finding their way down my cheeks, “I do not understand.”
“This is your path, my child.” His eyes fill with empathy; something stronger yet than that, a knowing, an understanding beyond my own.
“But,” the word escapes me once more. I seem unable to stop it. “Why me? Why this path?”
He reaches out a hand, gentle, and yet strong, lifting my chin so slightly. “Because, child, within you is a faith strong enough to cross this bridge. You will cling to me, and grow stronger because of the trials. I will teach you, and you will learn. This is your path.”
I do cling to Him then, because my legs will not support me. My eyes leave His, drawn once again to the darkness of the trail. “Is that the good that will come of it, then? That I will draw closer to You?”
“Not only that.” He kneels, drawing me to His side and pointing into the charcoal smog. “Look.” .....

No one knows exactly what went wrong, but legend says that the man in charge of the storehouse was dozing when a bird found its way in through an open window. In the startled flapping and shooing that followed, some important papers blew off his desk, and several crates that were supposed to leave the storehouse that day were deposited instead in a far corner. Several more crates headed out of the storehouse in the wrong direction.
Many miles away and many hours later, a young soldier pried open a crate, newly delivered. "Oh ho!" he cried out upon examining its contents, and he called his companions over to see.
They had been expecting a delivery of ammunition—small devices no bigger than a grape that exploded on contact after being lobbed through the air toward the enemy. The crate contained none of these deadly projectiles; instead, it held scores upon scores of...

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 KJV
Our thoughts affect our lives. How, is up to us. Living a life of virtue and praise is the result of Spiritual thoughts. If there be any virtue, if there be any praise, it will be because we are thinking on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.
How do your thoughts compare to this list? Are your thoughts true and honest? Do they agree or disagree with the truth of the Word? We must learn to think more on the promises of God and less on our problems. This doesn't mean that we ignore our problems and never address them - we can think about them, but we should never dwell on them. The Bible tells us that Jesus endured the cross because He set the joy before Him (Hebrews 12:2); we can do the same. We can choose to focus on the eternal promises of God rather than our temporary situation.
Are you thinking just thoughts - thoughts that agree with the forgiveness and innocence that is found in Christ? Are you thinking on things that are pure, innocent and modest? Do your thoughts focus on the lovely or the unlovely, the friendly or the unfriendly? Do you think about the good or the bad, the Spiritual or the carnal?
Your thoughts are your choice. Choose wisely.

The web especially needs your Bible studies, apologetic articles, calls to salvation, nonfiction and fiction articles and books leading people to Jesus. Together we attract lost people from all over the world who need Jesus along with believers who need their minds renewed and encouraged. Numerous people from around the world have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior directly through FaithWriters. We contact every person who leaves an email address, and provide them with more information. Sometimes we correspond with them several times. For quite some time now, FaithWriters has been experiencing increasing expenses and declining income. The current trend is not good. The vast majority (99%) of our members are free members, even though our membership is only pennies per day. Our main ongoing expenses come from administering the Challenge, other tools that help writers improve and site maintenance. We have regular and growing expenses including a hefty current expense to convert our large site to a mobile responsive site.

As followers of Jesus, we are making a difference by publishing the truth of Jesus. Often our visitors are from closed countries to the message of Christ and they have no other way to learn about Jesus. | | Please Pardon the Work - Mobile Responsive Conversion - Patience Requested
FaithWriters will soon begin a gradual conversion to a mobile responsive site. Much of the hard work of individual page conversion has already been done on a duplicate site designed for development. We will gradually be replacing the current site pages with pages that will automatically re-size based on your viewing device. This has been a very large and time consuming project due to the size of the site. You should not notice any interruption on a normal sized laptop or larger screen. Hopefully you will not even notice the gradual change on mobile devices. However, there could be issues at times with links not working and misaligned formatting on pages. If you are using a mobile device, for a time you may experience pages that respond correctly to your device size and other pages that display in their current full size format. A gradual transition will avoid any huge issues that might occur by transitioning all at once.
