And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden of the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. Acts 16.6.

Oh do let us see that we are God’s servants. Though He has entrusted His work to us, He nevertheless reserves for himself the authority to direct His servants. For do recall that at Antioch the Holy Spirit called the Lord’s servants to the work, yet Paul and Silas could not go to Asia by their own choice. The authority over the movement of the Lord’s servants is forever in the hands of the Holy Spirit. The question lies not in whether there is need in Asia, but whether God has a need in Asia at that particular time. How marvelously the book of Acts shows that the Holy Spirit who gives us power to work is also the One who sets the direction and timing of our work. Our responsibility in the work is simply to supply God’s current need.
