Hanging out with Jesus - by Colin Swann

“... and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” Matthew 28:20b (RSV)

Suppose Jesus knocked on your door today and said he was going to hang out with you for the day, how would you feel and how would you behave?

I'm sure you would have mixed feelings, ranging from immense love for him to trepidation that he might see some of the flaws in your behaviour and character. Would you miss out going places you would normally go to and avoid some of the people you usually mix with?

Today would be memorable, in retrospect, because Jesus would have walked with you: given you guidance, encouraged you and challenged your live-style that he insisted on seeing in the raw. As you walked this way with Jesus you may have regrets about your yesterday, and tomorrow would be different because of meeting Jesus today.

Yet, Jesus is with us always – every day! Let's never forget that!
