ROAD RULES

By Karen Pourbabaee

Jesus was a walker, His life a journey of obedience to the Father. Between His life-changing sermons, miracles, and encounters with people from all walks of life, Jesus was walking, even to His own death.

We are called to be walkers too, to “drop our nets” and follow Him. And if we “lose our life” on this road with Jesus, we will find the Life He planned for us. On the journey, let us remember a few road rules:

Walk in His light (Isaiah 2:5 “…Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord) …which is the truth found in God’s Word. The Psalmist further explains in Psalm 119:105, “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Let God’s Word illuminate your path for the journey.

Walk in Love (Ephesians 5:2)…and just as He commanded us in I John 4:7, “Beloved, let us love one another.” Remember that love never fails and you will walk a successful path.

Walk by faith not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) Let your faith be the fuel that propels you forward on this pilgrim road.

If we choose to walk in His light, in His love, and with His gift of faith, His presence will accompany us one step at a time until we reach our final destination. Therefore, drop your net! Lose your life! Learn His road rules! Then walk until you find the life He has planned for you.
