Montgomery County Meeting

            Montgomery County Coordinator, Kristi Van Eaton, is hosting a county meeting at 2:00 pm at the South Region Library located at 2101 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, TX  77380 Kristi has invited Greg Parker; our Southern Region Chair, Gary Blake; and Chairman, Scott Copeland to speak at the meeting. Others from our State Executive Committee will be on hand to answer questions. This is a great time for us to meet party members from all over the state. We cannot wait to see you Saturday.

Executive Committee Meeting

The State Executive meeting will be held from 11:30 to 1:30 at the Spring Creek Barbeque located at 19099 I-45, Shenandoah (Woodlands), TX  77385  The number is 936-271-0251. We have a room reserved which only holds 15 people. First come eat. Then we will see how many constitutionalists we can fit in one room for an exciting time of reports. You will hear from Chairman Scott Copeland, our North Region Chair and Spokesperson Christie Mowrey, our South Region Chair Gary Blake, and our Veteran Liaison, social media coordinator and Dallas County coordinator Dustin Ussery. We are excited about the Constitution Party of Texas and cannot wait to share it with you liberty loving Texans.

Matters of Life

The 5th Amendment states: “No Person shall … be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law”.

The 14th Amendment states: “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law”.

The Declaration of Independence states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.

We affirm the God-given legal personhood of all human beings from fertilization to natural death, without exception. The first duty of the law is to protect innocent life, created in the image of God. No government may legalize the taking of life without justification. Legalizing the termination of innocent life of the born or unborn, whether by abortion, infanticide, euthanasia or suicide, is a direct violation of their unalienable right to life. As to matters of rape and incest, we find it unconscionable to take the life of an innocent child for the crimes of his father.

Under no circumstances may the federal government fund or otherwise support any state or local government or any organization or entity, foreign or domestic, which advocates, encourages or participates in the practice of abortion.

In office, we shall only appoint to the federal judiciary, and to other positions of federal authority, qualified individuals who publicly acknowledge and commit themselves to the legal personhood of the pre-born child. In addition, we will do all that is within our power to encourage federal, state, and local government officials to protect the sanctity of the life of the pre-born through legislation, executive action, and judicial enforcement of the law of the land.

Article IV of the Constitution guarantees to each state a republican form of government. Therefore, although a Supreme Court opinion is binding on the parties to the controversy as to the particulars of the case, it is not a political rule for the nation. Roe v. Wade is an illegitimate usurpation of authority, contrary to the law of the nation’s Charter and Constitution. It must be resisted by all civil government officials, federal, state, and local, and by all branches of the government – legislative, executive, and judicial.
We affirm both the authority and duty of Congress to limit the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in all cases of abortion in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 2.

Ballot Access Lawsuit Update

In the last legislative session, The Constitution Party of Texas partnered with a new nonprofit organization, Texans for Voter Choice, to support making ballot access laws more fair for independent and minor party candidates, so that voters would have more choices on the ballot.

You can read about the work we did this past session here.

Now is the time to educate voters and candidates about how hard it is for independent and minor party candidates to get on the ballot. That means TVC needs to hear from you! Sharing personal stories is the most effective form of activism. Some of the stories we're collecting will be included in a lawsuit about Texas's overregulated and burdensome ballot access laws.

State Director, Carly Rose Jackson, is conducting phone interviews with Constitution Party voters, campaign volunteers, and former candidates about their experiences and challenges making their voice heard in the two-party dominated system. This is a great opportunity to serve God, Party and Country for the most fundamental form of FREEDOM OF SPEECH –VOTING—is being destroyed. Be the solution and not the silent majority.

Veteran Connection

            The number of active and inactive veterans joining our party is amazing. The Executive Committee saw a need for a liaison. They named Dustin Ussery our Veteran Liaison. Dustin has begun the process of putting together a new committee made up of veterans to help aid Texans to know and understand the purpose, resolve and needs of our military personnel. Connect with Dustin at the Executive Committee meeting and the Montgomery County meeting some of the details of this forthcoming committee.

Citizens Matter Constitutional Activists

            Our very own Vice Chairman, John Quigley, was contacted by a group of citizens in the City of Dallas called Citizens Matter. They were seeking help defeat a proposed $1 BILLION plus bond. Our Chairman made contact and setup a conference call between our Executive Committee, Dallas County Coordinator, Dustin Ussery, and five founding members of the Citizens Matter group.

The conversation brought a fruitful step forward of further strategy concerning social media outreach. Dustin has had several other calls with the group offering his expertise in social media outreach. Scott made a video and since then has been asked to make more.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? Immediately contact your family, friends and business acquaintances in the City of Dallas and ask them to vote NO on November 7, 2017, on all points of the proposed bond. Why Are You Not Running?

            The Constitution Party of Texas needs our members to run for public servant positions at the local government level. Only constitutionalists will turn our country to the Founding Fathers principles of the government being run by the citizen, not professional politicians. This means you.

Have you ever run for public office? Do you know where to begin? It starts by going to our website at https://www.constitutionpartytexas.org/ and contact Vice Chairman John Quigley or our Spokesperson Christy Peterson (Mowery). They will be happy to speak with you and get you moving toward being a mayor, city councilman, county supervisor, school board, or Sherriff.

The time has come to get involved and no longer be a benchwarmer. Get out of the dugout because we need constitutional homerun sluggers.

Say “No” to Joe Strauss and Phil King

How can we influence the vote for the selection of the Texas House? Glad you asked.

No longer should we settle for the same destructive path in Austin. Joe Strauss called Governor Abbotts Special Legislative Session “horse manure!” He refused to allow any discussion on any of the issues. The permanent removal of PROPERTY TAXES should have been at the top of the list. But NOOOOO!

Now comes Representative Phil King of Parker County placing his name in the hat to be the next Speaker of the House. He has promised to allow discussion on all the issues. So why did he vote NO to constitutional carry in the committee? Why has he not helped to move along the removal of NO FAULT DIVORCE? These are just two examples.

Do you believe the establishment republican party in Texas is destroying the future of Texas? Then contact your state representative. Tell them we must have a true constitutional voice as the next Speaker of the House in Texas. Contact Joe Strauss and Phil King and say “NO! We want our voice heard, not the establishment.”

CPAC 2018

            One of our fellow Texas Constitution Party of Texas members has graciously purchased a 10’ x 10’ booth at the forthcoming CPAC 2018 meeting on behalf of our national party. Jeff has done this at great personal expense. Jeff has asked for enough people to man the booth during this four day event. People from all over the United States of America will be attending.
