Dear Stargazers,

The summer eclipses are upon us, and the July 12 partial solar eclipse is notable because it's the first in a series of eclipses that will fall in Cancer and Capricorn during the coming years.

Eclipses often coincide with major developments, which means sooner or later change will be coming for those with planets or sensitive points in Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra.

What about the rest of you? Well, the eclipses land somewhere in everyone's chart, but depending on your personal horoscope you may or not experience an eclipse-related event. However, it's still a new moon (and a supercharged one to boot) that can help you bring about a new beginning. To learn more, scroll on down!
PLANETARY FORECAST
July 2 - 15

PLANETARY EVENTS

July 07:  Transiting Mercury enters the pre-retrograde shadow
July 09:  Transiting Venus enters Virgo
July 10:  Jupiter stations direct
July 12:  Solar Eclipse in Cancer

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

July 3, 15

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

July 4, 10, 12

NOTABLE ASPECTS

For guidance about these aspects, visit Facebook or Twitter the day before the aspect. Why the day before? Because that's when the energy starts building and the influence starts making itself known. Once the aspect is exact, the energy is released and the influence fades.

July 05:  Sun trine Jupiter
July 05:  Mercury opposite Mars
July 08:  Sun trine Neptune
July 09:  Mercury square Jupiter
July 11:  Venus trine Uranus
July 12:  Sun opposite Pluto
July 14:  Venus trine Saturn
TRANSITING VENUS IN VIRGO
July 9 - August 6

How does the goddess of love fare in the sign of the Maiden? When Venus is in Virgo, she’s in the sign of her fall, which means her energy is depleted. Considering that during the past several months she may have overspent in Aries, overeaten in Taurus, overbooked in Gemini, overprotected in Cancer and over-partied in Leo, it comes as no surprise that by the time Venus reaches Virgo, her tank is almost empty.

Since March 8, Jupiter has been backpedaling through Libra, and as it retraced its steps through the sign of partnership, Jupiter also urged us to review all of our relationships: the happy ones, the combative ones and the absent ones.

Why? To determine which ones were healthy and should remain, which ones were at risk but could be healed, which ones outlived their purpose and needed to be released, and perhaps even more important, which ones are missing in our life.

It also directed us to trim the fat from our lives. After all, too much of a good thing can lead to waste, arrogance, debauchery, and ill health. Whether the clutter existed in our kitchen, our arteries, our mind or our social circle, Jupiter urged us to toss it out with the trash.

If you created space in your life while Jupiter was retrograde, during the coming months you can expect this benevolent planet to fill it with newfound abundance in the form of meanignful opportunities and relationships that will enhance your life.

NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE AT 20°41 CANCER
July 12, 2018 | 10:48 PM
Washington, DC

Like all new moons, this sola
r eclipse speaks to a new beginning but since it's an eclipse, it may come about in an unexpected or surprising way.  What's more, if something is standing in the way, the eclipse may coincide with an ending that will clear the way for your fresh start.

It's important to understand that eclipses (or any transit for that matter) can only activate what's promised in the natal chart. In other words, if your chart indicates great wealth and the eclipse activates that potential, you could receive a substantial windfall. However, if your chart speaks to an average income, the eclipse might bring you some money but not a life changing amount.

In terms of timing, although an eclipse may bring an event right around the time it occurs, it's not unusual for an eclipse-related event to occur days or weeks before or after the eclipse occurs. Much depends on what else is going on in your personal horoscope as well as the heavens. For example, Mars is currently retrograde and since it rules initiation and action, things may not move as quickly now. However, it will be conjunct the lunar eclipse on July 27, and despite its retrograde motion will likely trigger things in a big way.

Cancer Solar Eclipse Chart

The solar eclipse chart contains a planetary pattern known as a Kite. A kite is a grand trine (three planets with flowing energy that forms a triangle) and one of its planets has an opposition to it.

In this chart, the grand trine involves the solar eclipse in Cancer, Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. Since all the planets are in water signs, it's a grand water trine. Of the four possible grand trine combinations (air, earth, water, fire), the grand water trine has the most creative potential. When you consider this planetary combination, its energy is also emotional, intuitive, compassionate, expansive and visionary.

The opposition that completes the pattern comes from Pluto in Capricorn, which opposes the solar eclipse. Pluto is very significant, because its opposition indicates a need to transform (or purge) something before a new beginning can take root.

Since Pluto is a deeply psychological planet and the eclipse is in the emotional sign of Cancer, it may be that some of you need to release fears or other negative feelings. For others, a drastic change connected to home or family may need attention.  No matter what it is, the bottom line is you're going to have to confront it even if it means staring into the abyss. Fortunately, the grand water trine promises that you won't fall into it.

Putting it all together, this beautiful flow of energy represents the promise of the seed that's been dormant. Pluto's opposition to the solar eclipse represents its transformation while buried beneath the soil, and its sextile to Jupiter provides the opportunity for substantial growth. Finally, its sextile to Neptune allows us to envision the promise in full bloom if we make the necessary changes.

At the very least, this solar eclipse offers a chance for emotional renewal and the opportunity to get your wants (Sun) and needs (Moon) on the same page.
Getting Personal

This month's new moon at 20°41' degrees of Cancer is also a solar eclipse, which means its energy is intensified and therefore longer lasting. Those of you with a planet, angle or house cusp at or near 20°41' of any sign will be on the receiving end of eclipse energy BUT you're not likely to experience it as an event unless that planet, point or cusp is in Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra.

As for the rest of you, the solar eclipse will fall somewhere in your personal horoscope, so if you want to know which life areas may be targeted for a bright new beginning or perhaps a much-needed change, look to the house
that's hosting this new moon in your chart.

If you don't know which house holds 20°41' Cancer in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the full moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart).

Manifesting with the Cancer Solar Eclipse

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's a solar eclipse, it's energy is more powerful and when it's in Cancer, it especially favors:

Actions and affirmations to improve family relationships and domestic affairs; purchase, sell, rent or improve a residence, office or any other type of real property; find skillful caretakers, plumbers, obstetricians and landscapers.

And...

As a result of conflicting schedules (mine and Chris Flisher's), the He Says She Says Astrology podcast will be making its debut in September.

Finally, to those of you celebrate Independence Day, have a safe and Happy 4th of July.

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
