Dear Stargazers,

To those of you who celebrated the Festival of Lights, I'd like to wish you a belated Happy Hanukkah. Yes, belated. For some reason (Mercury Retrograde perhaps?), it got away from me this year.

To those of you who celebrate Kwanzaa, Happy Kwanzaa! And to
those who celebrate the birth of Jesus, Merry Christmas!

I know that for some of you, a recent personal event is making the holiday season brighter than usual. May you enjoy every moment and create lasting memories that will make you smile for years to come.

At the same time, I know that a few of you are grieving a very recent loss. May you draw strength from the love you shared and find comfort in the memories that live in your heart.

PLANETARY EVENTS

Dec. 25:  Venus enters Capricorn
Jan. 01:   Full Moon in Cancer

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

Dec. 28
Jan.  3, 6

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

FULL MOON at 11°38' CANCER

Whereas the purpose of a new moon is to initiate something new, the purpose of the full moon is to bring something to light and/or to fruition.

This month's full moon features an astrological configuration known as a Kite. Although a kite is a significant pattern in and of itself, its influence is increased because the full moon plays a role in it.

A kite pattern is a Grand Trine (a triangle indicating a kite shape) that features an opposition to one of the planets in it (that's the tail).  In this case, it's a Grand Water Trine because it's composed of the Moon in Cancer, Neptune in Pisces and the Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio and the "tail" is formed by the opposition from the Moon to the Sun (as well as to Venus and Pluto).

The oppositions to the Moon suggests the need to confront and resolve an issue on an emotional level. Since the energy flow of a Grand Water trine is sensitive, intuitive, compassionate and yes, forgiving, the potential for a peaceful and mutually satisfying resolution is strong.
Getting Personal

A full moon occurs when the Sun and Moon form an aspect known as an opposition. The house that holds the Moon is where the action is in your chart, and something related to one (or more) of the life areas ruled by it may come to light, to fruition or to an end. Since a full moon falls across two houses, it's important to consider the life areas of the house that holds the sun as well.

If you don't know which house holds 11°38 Cancer' in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the full moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart).

If your Sun Sign is:

Aries, it falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents). Read the 10th house as well.

Releasing with the Cancer Full Moon

Once the full moon peaks and the matter is concluded, it's over and the next step is to release any attachment to it. That's why, the period of time between the full moon and the next new moon (the time while the moon is waning or disappearing from sight) is energetically ripe for releasing things from our life.

You can release anything under any full moon, but since this one is saturated in Cancer energy, it's especially helpful for releasing:

Negative beliefs or fears connected to emotional and financial security, family members, establishing a home, finding your tribe, nurturing (ability to nurture or resistance to being nurtured), bodies of water and intuitive gifts,

Traits or tendencies to be moody, stingy, clingy, manipulative, fearful, procrastinating, thin-skinned.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
