Below is just one of the testimonials I've received after a reading with a client. Thank you, Joe for allowing me to print it!

Dear Debra,

I wanted to thank you for the uplifting and inspiring spirit reading you provided to me. I was astounded at the insight and personal information that came through from my loved ones. My son and my father, along with other family members, that are no longer with us on earth, have made themselves known to me; through you.

As you are undoubtedly aware skepticism is always in our thoughts, but your information from my family left no doubts in my mind. You were able to answer questions and provide insight that only intimate knowledge of the persons involved would know.

I applaud your skills in communicating with the afterlife and I greatly appreciate the reading you gave me. I thank you and appreciate your honesty and integrity and the way you shared and communicated my families information. I look forward with anticipation as to the possibilities hinted at by family members in the near future.

Thank you and may God bless you,

Sincerely yours,

Joseph (New York)

Back to astrology ...

I know many of you are already starting to feel the influence of the upcoming lunar eclipse on August 7th, which is why I've included an article about the eclipses in this issue. There will be more to come in the July 30th newsletter, which will also include the year ahead forecast for Leo.  Now let's take a look at the coming two weeks!

PLANETARY FORECAST
July 17 - July 30, 2017

PLANETARY EVENTS

July 20:  Mars enters Leo
July 22:  Sun enters Leo (Happy Birthday, Leo!)
July 23:  New Moon in Leo
July 24:  Mercury enters the pre-retrograde shadow
July 25:  Mercury enters Virgo

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

TRANSITING MARS IN LEO
(July 20 - September 5)

After weeks of feeling depleted while Cancer, Mars was more than happy to exit the sign of its fall and enter the fiery, passionate and dramatic sign of Leo.

As he proudly sauntered into the Lion's den, Mars felt his confidence, courage and passion return; and when  placed Leo's crown upon his head, he experienced a newfound sense of pride. He also experienced a sudden desire to sit on the throne, and as he sat surveying the kingdom, his ego, his vanity and his sense of self-entitlement blossomed and thus a drama king was born.

That's why when Mars is in Leo, he can be an impatient bully who won't hesitate to steamroll others to get his way. He also takes everything personally and is quick to lash out in righteous indignation against anyone who disagrees, criticizes or opposes him. The only thing Mars in Leo wants to hear is the sound of applause, and when he's challenged, he's downright combative, and at his worst, he's a tyrant.

Fortunately, while Mars is in Leo, his heart expands as well, along with his magnanimous and fun-loving nature, creative abilities and passion for life, and when he chooses to channel his ambition through these outlets, he achieves dazzling success in the arts, builds empires, donates generously to those less fortunate and spearheads noble causes. At his best, Mars in Leo is the planetary embodiment of joie de vivre.

Depending upon the circumstances, Mars in Leo may be a benevolent dictator or a generous benefactor, but whether he's presiding over a reign of terror or a peaceable kingdom, the one thing he'll never do is back down.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEO!

Although the rest of the signs may not care to admit it, Leo is the star of the zodiac.

Ruled by the Sun, which represents the life force, those born under the sign of the Lion are meant to be in the spotlight. Hard as they may try, no other sign celebrates life with as much joy, enthusiasm and panache as Leo. This is not to say they’re perfect, mind you. True, their innate nature is warm, loving and generous, but they can also being vain, self-centered and melodramatic. In short, their fiery nature can singe a heart as easily as it warms it.

Although they tend to hog the spotlight, they can be quite generous in other ways. In fact, when it comes to spoiling loved ones Leos have more than just big hearts, they also have big budgets.

In the wild, the lion’s brute strength protects its pride while the lioness’ fierce hunting skills nourish it. Likewise, Leo women are just as formidable and accomplished as Leo men. While Lions Carl Jung, Henry Ford, Alfred Hitchcock, Andy Warhol, Gene Kelly, Mick Jagger, Dustin Hoffman, Fidel Castro, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have certainly made their mark in the world. So have Lionesses Coco Chanel, Amelia Earhart, Lucille Ball, Julia Child, Jacqueline Kennedy, Helen Thomas, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Martha Stewart and J.K. Rowling.

You may love them or you may loathe them, but you won’t ignore them because every single Leo is born with star quality.

Thirty years ago this coming August, I was on a gurney just outside the delivery room with my newborn daughter resting comfortably across my chest. A swinging door opened, and in walked the doctor with my mom and dad who had been sitting in the waiting room since the moment I arrived at the hospital.

As they came closer to catch a glimpse of their first and only grandchild, my little cub who was less than two hours old lifted her head ever so slightly and let out a single roar before drifting back to sleep. In that instant, we knew that a star had been born … and that she knew it as well.

Every member of the zodiac sparkles in its own distinct way but none of them can rival Leo’s brilliance.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the rest of us should stop trying.

NEW MOON at 0°44' LEO
July 23, 2017 | 5:46 AM EDT
Washington, DC

As the zodiac ruler of the 5th house in the natural zodiac, Leo rules children, love affairs, creativity, entertainment, recreation, social and sporting events. Its enthusiastic energy can help you express your personal creativity and is an excellent influence for inviting romance into your life.

Leo is the most willful sign of the zodiac, and that quality is magnified in this month's new moon because it's infused with ambitious, headstrong and impulsive energy thanks to a conjunction with Mars.

Since Leo and Mars share a fiery, ego driven and self-centered nature, there's a strong theme of instant gratification to this new moon, which is further emphasized by the position of the new moon-mars conjunction in the 1st house of the lunation chart.

Add in a dose of instability thanks to a square (provocative energy) from transiting Uranus and you have a highly combustible new moon.

Consequently, the intentions you set at this time may well take off like a rocket. However, whether they hit the heights or crash and burn will largely depend upon how the upcoming lunar eclipse on August 7th plays out in your chart.

There's more on the lunar eclipse to come, but for now I've included a brief article at the end of this newsletter.

Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting this new moon in your chart. If you don't know which house holds 0°44' Leo in your horoscope, you can refer to the below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Ariesit falls in your 5th house (romance, children, creative self-expression, entertainment).

Taurusit falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents).

Gemini,  it falls in your solar 3rd house (siblings, neighbors, short trips, cars, contracts, negotiations).

Cancerit falls in your 2nd house (income, spending, personal values, self-esteem, tangible assets).

Leoit falls in your 1st house (your physical body, attitude towards life).

Virgo, it falls in your 12th house (spirituality, creativity, mental health, addictions).

Libra, it falls in your 11th house (groups, associations, hopes, casual friends, colleagues).

Scorpioit falls in your 10th house (career, fame, status, reputation).

Sagittarius, it falls in your 9th house (education, law, religion, foreign and long-distance travel, publishing).

Capricornit falls in your 8th house (intimacy, shared resources, other people's support, birth, death, estate matters).

Aquariusit falls in your 7th house (marriage and all one-to-one relationships including best friends, adversaries, business partners and clients).

Piscesit falls in your 6th house (health, work, pets, diet, nutrition).
Manifesting with the Leo New Moon

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's saturated in Leo energy, it especially favors:

Actions and affirmations related to romance, pregnancy, social opportunities, entertainment and recreational pursuits, gambling and speculation, sporting events, performing arts and all forms of creative self-expression.
TRANSITING MERCURY IN VIRGO

After just three weeks in the Lion’s den, Mercury was feeling burned out from the intensity of Leo’s spotlight. Though it was fun while it lasted, it was time to check out of the sign of passionate pursuits and into the sign of health and wellness, otherwise known as Virgo.

As the planetary ruler of Virgo, Mercury feels at home in the Maiden’s immaculate 6th house of self-improvement, which is fortunate because except for a brief 10-day visit back into Leo from Aug. 31 to Sept. 9, he’ll be spending the next nine weeks here. >>Read More

ECLIPSE SEASON

Eclipses have a well-deserved reputation as game changers because they frequently announce life-changing events.

As of July 7, we're within one-month of the August 7 lunar eclipse at 15°25' Aquarius, and many of you are already feeling its influence. This powerful energy which will continue to build until August 7, at which time this intense energy will come to a powerful peak and be released at the lunar eclipse.

On July 21, we'll be within one month of the solar eclipse that will occur at 28°53' Leo on August 21, at which time many of you will begin to feel its influence.

The life areas ruled by the respective house in your horoscope that's on the receiving end of these eclipses will experience a powerful activation. What type of activation?

Since a lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon, expect something to come to fruition or, more likely, to an end.

In contrast, a solar eclipse occurs at a new moon, which means you can expect it to usher in some type of new beginning. It's important to note that if something that needs to be cleared away or released before a new start can take root, the solar eclipse may sweep it away.

It's important to note that if anythingends or is swept away by an eclipse, it will be gone for good. Whenever something (or someone) leaves your life under an eclipse, it's to create a void to make room for something better.

There's an unpredictable quality to eclipses, which is why they're viewed as planetary wild cards.

When an eclipse aspects (touches) a planet or sensitive point in your horoscope, it ignites its energy and also triggers any applying aspects it makes in your chart. This is especially true if the aspect is a hard one, such as a conjunction (beginnings/endings), a square (provocative) or an opposition (confrontational), because these aspects are known to coincide with actions or events.

While all 12 Sun signs will feel the effects of the eclipses, they won't feel them to the same degree. Since these eclipses fall in the signs of Aquarius and Leo, the signs most deeply affected by them are Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio.

If you have your Sun, Ascendant (rising sign) or a planet in any of these signs, it's being targeted for change by this eclipse cycle.

I have a lot more to share about the potential influence of these eclipses in the July 30th newsletter, so stay tuned!

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
