BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

April 9, 12, 16

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

NOTABLE ASPECTS

For guidance about these aspects, visit Facebook or Twitter the day before the aspect. Why the day before? Because that's when the energy starts building and the influence starts making itself known.  Once the aspect is exact, the energy is released and the influence fades.

NEW MOON IN ARIES
April 15, 2017 | 9:57 PM
Washington, DC

As the first sign in the zodiac, Aries represents birth, initiation and the pioneering spirit. That's why the annual new moon in Aries is considered the most fertile one for new beginnings.

Now, every sign has a key phrase that describes its inherent nature, and the one belonging to Aries is "I AM" because it represents the individual self.

Consequently, every Aries new moon encourages you to initiate actions that further your own personal interests. In other words, you're being given a cosmic green light to put yourself first and start something that will benefit YOU.

Blast off

In and of itself, every Aries new moon is permeated with the assertive, ambitious, resourceful, impatient (and yes, headstrong) energy of the Ram. Since this one is conjunct Uranus, there's a heightened sense of excitement and ingenuity along with an added sense of urgency and an element of unpredictability. As it happens, this high-octane trio falls in the 5th house of creativity, passion and self-expression.

Shoot for the Stars

An often overlooked fact is that like the 9th house, the 5th house of the horoscope is also a house of expansion. The difference is that while 9th house expansion is about abundance (increase, plenty, quantity), 5th house expansion is about creation (pregnancy, children, artistic works).

When you blend the meaning of house with the nature of this new moon, it's easy to see that it's infused with energy that's perfect for a new beginning intended to further your own interests in a way that allows you to express your own creative style.

Go Big or Go Home

The Uranus influence could mean that your new start will take off brilliantly or that people will be surprised to see this side of you. Since this planet is known for controversy, it could indicate that not everyone will be on board with your new plan. However, Uranus doesn't care what other people think, so it's less likely to matter. In fact, it's thick-skinned influence may be just what some of you need in order to take the plunge in some area.

Mercury's Station

When Mercury is retrograde during a new moon, it typically hinders the germination of new beginnings. In this case, Mercury will station direct approximately 16 hours before the new moon. Whenever a planet makes a station, its energy is unstable so even though it's facing in the right direction, it's not working at full throttle.

For this reason, it's even more important that you wait until the first glimmer of the moon appears in the sky before you set your intentions.

Conclusion

In terms of the rest of the chart, there's a lovely Jupiter/Neptune trine that will lend support in terms of broadening your vision, expanding your intuition and increasing your faith.

Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting this new moon in your chart. If you don't know which house holds 26°02' of Aries in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, it falls in your 1st house (your physical body, attitude towards life).
Taurus, it falls in your 12th house (spirituality, creativity, mental health, addictions).
Gemini, it falls in your 11th house (groups, associations, hopes, casual friends, colleagues).
Cancer, it falls in your 10th house (career, fame, status, reputation).
Leo, it falls in your 9th house (education, law, religion, foreign and long-distance travel, publishing).
Virgo, it falls in your 8th house (intimacy, shared resources, other people's support, birth, death, estate matters).
Libra, it falls in your 7th house (marriage and all one-to-one relationships including best friends, adversaries, business partners and clients).
Scorpio, it falls in your 6th house (health, work, pets, diet, nutrition).
Sagittarius, it falls in your 5th house (romance, children, creative self-expression, entertainment). Read the 11th house as well.
Capricorn, it falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents).
Aquarius, it falls in your solar 3rd house (siblings, neighbors, short trips, cars, contracts, negotiations.).
Pisces, it falls in your 2nd house (income, spending, personal values, self-esteem, tangible assets).

Manifesting with the Aries New Moon

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's in Aries, it especially favors:

Actions and affirmations to promote personal interests and ambitions, strengthen your body and enhance your physical appearance and increase your energy, confidence, courage, leadership and self-motivation.

TRANSITING SATURN RETROGRADE
April 17 - September 6, 2018

Every year Saturn transits retrograde for approximately 4.5 months, and like all retrograde transits, it's best used for introspection rather than initiation.

When it comes to Saturn, you reap what you sow, which means that you ultimately rise or fall according to your own efforts.

While Saturn is retrograde, you're being given the opportunity to review what you've been doing up until now, identify any missteps and correct them. In short, it's about reviewing your life and:
  • Spotting weak links in any area of your life that's not working out;
  • Taking responsibility for the role you played in it; and
  • Determining whether or not it's worth keeping.
If it's not worth keeping, it's time to cut it loose and start over.

If it is worth keeping, then it's time to:
  • Define how you want it to turn out;
  • Create a plan to accomplish it; and
  • Commit to seeing it through.
Using this cycle for corrective purposes, as well as laying any necessary groundwork, will enable you to build a strong foundation. If you do, when Saturn stations direct, you'll be able to move forward knowing that you're on firm ground.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAURUS!

Ruled by the earthy side of Venus, you're blessed with exquisite taste, financial savvy and an (almost) endless amount of patience. A devoted friend and staunch ally, your unwavering loyalty means you can always be counted on to show up, hold your ground and go the distance.

Born under the most productive sign of the zodiac, you have a well-earned reputation for working hard and earning your way. True, you can be resistant to change, but with a healthy appreciation for sensual delights, you know how to live the good life.
TRANSITING PLUTO RETROGRADE
April 22 - September 30, 2018

Pluto transits retrograde every year for about 5 months, and like all retrograde transits, this one is best used for introspection rather than initiation.

In astrology, Pluto rules the body's excretory systems that remove waste which if retained, would eventually cause agonizing pain and prove fatal if left untreated.

While Pluto is retrograde, it's time to look within for any repetitive patterns, obsessive thoughts or other psychological demons and banish them from your consciousness. Likewise, it's time to identify and purge relationships and circumstances that are toxic to your physical, emotional and spiritual well being.

If they're not released, they'll continue to hold your potential hostage and poison your happiness.

However, if you do the work and clear away these negative influences, once Pluto moves forward you'll find it much easier to create a life that aligns with your soul's purpose and brings you happiness and fulfillment on a daily basis.
One more thing...

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the tremendous response to last month's special subscriber-only reading about Saturn.

If you purchased one but didn't receive it last week, it could be hiding in your spam folder or it may have have been hijacked by Mercury retrograde. Either way, if you don't have it, please email me so I can resend it to you.

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
