Dear Friend of America’s Survival:

Nixon said he was not a crook. Trump says he is not a liar.

President Trump has one last chance to save himself and his Administration.

Here’s the story: Prepare the White House for President Pence

But I believe President Trump will step down.

A Trump supporter sent me the following:

The president is the nation's top cop and prosecutor, and has the executive authority to decide who will be prosecuted and who will be excused from prosecution. Comey knew/knows this full well, making the whole issue about whether or not Trump 'directed' him to back off the Flynn investigation a non-issue legally.

It doesn’t matter what Trump or Comey may say or do. What matters is Special Counsel Robert Mueller. He is determined to bring down Trump.

Once Muller was appointed, Trump’s days were numbered. Trump knows this. That is why he is so angry that Attorney General Sessions recused himself from Russia-gate, leading to the Mueller appointment.

President Trump was not under investigation. But he is now.

Former FBI Director James Comey is a smart operator. He leaked material to the press, in order to get a Special Counsel to investigate Trump. The ploy worked. Not only that, but the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller, is an old friend of Comey.

That is why Trump is toast. Mueller’s investigation will charge Trump with obstruction of justice. Mueller will protect his friend Comey.

Here’s the key point: Comey didn’t charge Trump with obstruction of justice. He didn’t have to. That’s Mueller’s job.

Trump’s only hope is to assemble a war room to discredit Mueller.

That’s the subect of my column: Prepare the White House for President Pence.

The legal case is not the issue. It doesn’t matter whether Comey accuses Trump of obstruction of justice, a criminal offense. What matters is the perception of wrongdoing, fed by the Watergate-style coverage, and whether Trump has the personnel, resources and supporters on Capitol Hill to fight back.

After Comey’s testimony, Trump sent out his personal lawyer to read a statement but took no questions. This is ridiculous. This is not the way to fight.

The White House press office is a joke. Sean Spicer and Sarah Huckabee Sanders need help.
