[ASI] Ron Paul's Praise for Accused Traitor

Dear Friend of America's Survival, Inc.:

In a blog post titled, Iowa Up in the Air, Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post mentions Ron Paul's praise for accused traitor and homosexual Bradley Manning. She thinks this may hurt him in the January 3 Iowa caucuses:

"Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) let his mask of semi-respectability fall when he praised Bradley Manning, accused traitor, and got huffy with Gloria Berger (my gosh, even Sarah Palin hung in there with Katie Couric) when she asked about the racist, conspiracy-filled newsletters sent out under his name in the 1980s and 1990s."

We broke this story. Read it here:

Ron Paul Says Accused Traitor is a Patriot

Accused traitor Bradley Manning

Manning, who served as an intelligence analyst in Iraq, is charged with one of the most spectacular and damaging leaks of classified information in this country's history. He should be given the death penalty if convicted, but the Army for some reason is only considering life in prison for him.

Admiral Mike Mullen, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the "irresponsible posting of stolen classified documents by WikiLeaks puts lives at risk and gives adversaries valuable information."

Manning is a flaming homosexual who dresses like a woman and has "gender identity" problems.

Ron Paul's remarks were:

You know, talking about giving sovereign immunity to our government officials, and I would remove it all, but what about giving immunity to the whistle blowers? They're the ones who need the immunity. We have a few brave souls, especially in the foreign policy area. It came up in Vietnam, and it's come up more recently with WikiLeaks. Technically yes, they're breaking a rule, but what is government doing? They're breaking the law, and they're doing these horrible things. So if we have an American citizen that is willing to take the consequences and practice civil disobedience and say, "This is what our government's been doing", should he be locked up in prison? Or should we see him as a political hero? Maybe he is a true patriot who reveals what's going on in government.

The "American" in prison he was referring to is Manning.  That's clear by his reference to WikiLeaks and whistleblowers. As Paul indicated, Manning was already in prison waiting for his trial on treason charges.

But Manning is not willing to take the conseqeunces. He has a lawyer defending him from a court-martial. And the far-left is helping to pay for his defense!

You can hear Ron Paul's  remarks here.

Jeffrey Lord of The American Spectator says, "This story about Ron Paul coming up with a robust defense of someone many Americans see a traitor should be a big one. Will we see it again after the holidays as Iowa approaches?"

Ron Paul should apologize to our troops for praising somebody who betrayed them.

God bless our troops. Execute the traitors.
